Amidst the storm of negativity that has seemed to swirl around the team both over the all-star break and this season in general, I think it's important to remember that being a Houston Rockets fan is f*cking awesome! Here's a couple of reasons why: 1. A HISTORY OF INCREDIBLE PLAYERS: Moses Malone. Hakeem Olajuwon. James Harden, Clyde Drexler, Yao Ming, and Scott Padgett. Champions, MVPs, All-Stars, and players who have changed the trajectory of the NBA. Objectively, the Rockets are one of the most storied franchises in the NBA in terms of players. 2. CONSISTENT TEAM SUCCESS: You want championships? The Rockets have two, and were damn close to having three after last season. The Rockets are currently 8th all-time in terms of overall team winning percentage, and are about to pass the Suns for 7th all time in a season or two. We've been spoiled as fans. 3. INTERNATIONAL ****ING APPEAL: The Rockets are probably tied with the Bulls and the Lakers as teams that have some of the strongest international followings. And out of all the three teams I've mentioned, the Rockets are the only team with true international superstars. And Toni Kukoc doesn't count. With that said, I realize that this is a frivolous thread created by an internet rando, so if you want to be down on the team, all the more power to you. Obviously, being a fan of any sports team isn't perfect and will never be, but that makes climbing the hill and eventually reaching the top that much more satisfying. And perhaps my optimism is blind, but I would rather be a happy fool then an angry, bitter dude who's sitting back and waiting for his fears to be proven right (for internet bragging rights) Also, we have the best player in the NBA on our team right now. How many fanbases can say that?
Oh and thank you for not including T-Slack, She-Mac, whatever you wanna call that choke artist on the list!
I dun like his analyzing but got him, Rafer Alston, Kyle Lowry, Battier, Luis Scola, Franchise and Cat in my Dream Team of the Decade 2000.
He's not much of an analyst, and I'm not much of a T-Mac fan anymore after how it all ended but I will admit to the fact that 13 in 33 is an awesome moment in NBA history.
I'm convinced. They must be pretty awesome if they have international appeal with ANY four letter word you can think of.
It takes more effort to be down on the team and less effort to be excited about the team. I like the less effort part.
F yea!!!!! We are gonna make a huge run starting Thursday. Get ready for it. Just remember that us real fans believed and its much better when your consistent belief becomes a reality then when you bandwagon
