OK so what was the point of the Iman Shumpert trade again

I have never been a fan. He doesn't seem that skilled to me. He hustles and that's good but so do a lot of church league players. My biggest memory of him is missing boatloads of open threes when he was in Clevland.

Was kind of curious about this because he has looked good on defense, but his offense has been pretty bad. So I decided to look it up for myself. Here are the results



So yeah, take this with a grain of salt because of sample size and all that, but the defensive rating doesn't tell the whole story.

 

I might be wrong but in my memory he's just another Corey Brewer with straight face. Yes just like James Ennis.

Well he's a career 34% shooter from 3, so I think it's fair we can expect him to shoot better than the 25% he has over two games. He is shooting 6 per game though which would be way over his career high. CP3 just trying to get the new guy integrated and draining shots.

 

James Ennis sucked. Opponents shot 54% on shots defended by Ennis, 40% on 3s. Shumpert by comparison is keeping defenders to 45% overall and 36% on 3s.

I'm excited to see him settle into our system. I've noticed that like PJ, his percentage on corner threes is substantially better than his over-all percentage. Would be nice if they can figure out how to take advantage of that. I think he could really help our starting unit defensively and I really feel like we need Gordon's scoring punch off the bench.

 

Defensive wing. We’ve been saying this all season! Ennis sucked b-sack. He couldn’t stay in front of anyone’s mom. We know he can kinda shoot. He’ll need to find his timing. Is mirotic a good player?
