Surprised that many people completely unaware of their monthly withholding status and monthly paycheck amounts...

Yeah, tax return isn't indicative of how much you pay or save in taxes.

I think there are some people who are paying more in taxes due to some new deductable caps, but for the most part I think what many people are experiencing is the reduced money withheld for taxes ultimately reducing their tax return.

    Also, D&D, quickly.

I would assume most people would understand that. Taking that into consideration with what they were being paid.

Most people don't change them year to year
What should be the impetus to change them?

    You get a raise?
Or should be an eye on the tax laws changing

QUESTION: At what point should a person get a Accountant?
I was thinking 100K and above.

I think you answered your own question... if only there were people who's job is to literally know what you should adjust your withholding to, or when there's an impetus to change them, or when the tax laws are about to change...

As a living? Quit when my future ex-wife got pregnant, which killed a 6 month trip to South Africa I was slated for. That was 1998.

Sucks your wife at the time got pregnant with what I would assume is your child. Did you ever make it to South Africa though?
