Objection your honor! Counsel is conflating the fans on this BBS with the fans that make up the "homecourt!"

You can't trade Harden simply because, due to the curse of Houston sports, he'll probably win a championship within the next year or two with his next team like so many other stars or potential stars Houston teams have traded. And we can't have that.

Also, the many other reasons I'm sure people have mentioned.

Only one team wins the NBA championship. That means a boatload of teams and fanbases are disappointed. With GS's level of talent who is winning it besides them? Enjoy the journey, the destination is already written in the script.

You'd think this site would be full of people who are psyched about the Rockets.
I'm enjoying the hell out of this season. For those of you who aren't, sucks to be you. . . .

    Bingo
It was almost like Karma catching up to us
We caught a HUGE break when Bosh backed out to stay in MIA, thereby freeing Cuban to get suckered into Parsons
We dodged 2 major cap bullets then ... but only for another year

Ryno's untradeable / unplayable contract was Morey's response the next offseason after Dwight left, and it caught up to us in a HUGE way
In addition to leaving us capped out every year since for Star FAs, his play fell off a cliff so fast in HOU, we couldn't even use his 'cap hold' as a contract to trade for another player that might be worth $20M+
Not to mention all the role players and depth it cost us trying to stay under the luxury tax

Morey's best trade as GM was Harden
    His best pick was Capella
His best FA signing was Gordon
All 3 were brilliant additions which formed the core of a team we all think could have won it last year if CP3's hammy held up

Everything else he's done since getting Harden has ranged from irrelevant to bad:
Dwight was a coup in FA - until everyone realized he had no interest in playing P&R offense he was brought here to play
CP3 trade was great - until his hammy blew up in G5 & his MEGA extension kicked in a month later
PJ deal was solid - until it cost us Ariza

Vets acquired thru trade, FA, or buyouts that failed to improve the team, or even sometimes made it worse:
    Ryno
    Smoove
    Brewer
    Ty Lawson
    Melo
    Lin
    Lou
    JJo
    Rivers

Draft Picks wasted on the wrong guy, or spent as set-up moves for another star that never came here:
    Morris
    TJones
    DMo
    Melton
    Dillon Brooks
    Royce
    Nick Johnson
    Canaan
    Kostas
    Gentile
    Onuaku
    Qi
    Taylor
    Payton
    Wiltjer
    Budinger

The G-League turnstile from the middle to the bottom of the roster has netted exactly zero additional core players, yet so many quality guys have passed thru:
    Livingston
    Covington
    Courtney Lee
    Dragic
    Bev
    House

To list this many second rounders and say we selected the wrong guy is to truly not understand the NBA. i'm done with this board.

    Later guys.

It's all good being a fan and rooting for a team-- and I have done so even in the 14th pick years, but listening to Daryl Morey saying things like "Title contenders don't win close games, they avoid close games" over the last 12 years has taught me to be realistic about a team's talent level and value of assets (of all kinds, including the owner's willingness to pay).

Given how hard it is to contend for an NBA title and how short one's windows often are, it's especially disappointing in seeing the team being handicapped by ownership.

They've literally been handicapped though...by injuries.

Injuries are a factor, but not willing to spend money on adequate talent is another factor. Inadequate depth forces more minutes on regular rotation guys and increases the risk for injury. Inadequate depth also renders the team unable to fill in for injured guys with competent replacements.

Also, for people blaming Morey for signing scrubs in the summer: He is not to blame. When you only have the minimum wage to offer, most of your signees are gonna fail. You are not gonna get Luc Mbah a Moute with every one of your minimum signing. Morey actually recovered just fine getting a few competent guys like Danuel House, Faried and Rivers, but that's about all you can expect when you are not even allowed to touch the MLE.

It's 2019; it's easier to b**** and whine about things you think you might have a clue on than to try and support something for what it currently is.

We're going to have a $9M MLE to spend this off-season. If they don't sign someone impactful with that, I'll be right there with the rest of you saying Tilman is cheap. Hell, I'll even offer rides to the rally. But until then, I think these guys deserve our faith and support. In the very least, James Harden does.

Yeah I am. Maybe a different group of people (I'd think there's a lot of crossover) but I'd say in this day and age you can bring down a team's morale by booing them on the internet as surely as you can by booing them in the arena. To which I say boooooo, booooo-urns, and GO ROCKETS! Your honor.
