As far as the regular season goes, we can't put a limit on what Beard can do. If he wins a couple championships, the debate gets reallllllllly interesting.

Can you really call him a SG (implying that is his dominant position) considering he brings the ball up the court & facilitates the majority of the time, and now as a Rocket the majority of his career?

No SG will or should ever be getting 300+ points un-assisted..

    just sayin'

He may have the body structure of a prototypical SG, he may have initially began his career as a SG, heck he even may start a lot of games as a SG.. but make no mistake-- he does not spend the majority of his time playing SG & he is not dominating the league as a SG.

Position names are becoming increasingly meaningless.

I agree, but I still think of Harden as a SG. Throughout his career he has been paired with a traditional PG even though in operation that PG plays as a SG.

We used to call alot of guys PG/SG, but Harden may be the first guy that is a true mix of both positions.

If Harden is a shooting guard, I guarantee you he's averaging more total points created (points + points assists) than any other shooting guard ever.

Can you imagine if MLB changed the strike zone or fences, or NFL changed holding, PI, rules because iT's ThE pLayOfFs?!?!

I hate that it's normal for everyone to say that won't work in the playoffs! Seriously, any product or service you bought that stopped performing to specification or worse stopped working because of some artificial condition would be ****. Imagine you purchase a streaming service and they decide it doesn't work during or works differently during the summer for no damn reason. What I'm saying is... NBA is a shitty product.

    Yeah, he can do it.

I was thinking about this the other day, when we were playing the Knicks.

I feel like if he got really hot from 3 one night...he could get over 82...yeah I think he could.

    While inherently I agree.

It can't be too meaningless if 'experts' want to keep discussing and making lists over 'who is best all time in so-so position' throwing all that media clout out

With CP3 back in the fold, I feel like the chances of Harden going off for more than 60+ is really low.

I've always considered Harden to be a combo guard (in the best sense of the term) . He has qualities of a PG/SG, but he really isn't either.

Harden is definitely explosive enough to do it. Could you imagine the Twitter meltdown if he actually did it and shot over 15 fts lol
