He fits our system well, because while we don't have a team of tall players, what we do have is a team of small stout players, that can switch onto guards on defense.

Our defensive philosophy will fit his skill-set because we don't necessarily need shot blockers, but smart quick defenders that can pack the paint and swipe at the ball.

You put that with his pick and roll abilities, then you have a perfect replacement 5 for Capela.

I agree with first part but I feel we need to drop the height as a measure of tallness instead, use standing reach. Faried is 6'8 but has a SR of 9'. Clint, who is also lengthy is only 2.5" taller. Harden has a freakish 6'11 wingspan, Ariza is 7'2. That is why they are able to guard seemingly taller players and cover a lot of ground with that length. Like the saying goes, you don't block shots with your head.

Early in Faried’s career in Denver I thought this guy was a lot like Carl Landry with more upside. I remember clearly on Clutchfans how highly coveted he was.

He then suddenly dropped off the planet with numerous DNPs even when healthy with Denver before languishing in NJ.

He’s still young and I’m surprised by his athleticism, I thought maybe that’s why he dropped off. His sample size is still small with Rox but he seems every bit the player he was in his first few years with Denver filling ESPN highlights with his athleticism and hustle and earning his manimal nickname. His ability to so quickly adapt with Harden and the pick-n-roll suggests a relatively high IQ (we’ve had plenty of athletic bigs not figure this out). Also, his off ball/help defense is on point. How was this guy on the trash heap for so long? What a head-scratcher!

Man his energy is great, he can still get up and is a better Herrel. Why was no one giving him minutes?

They probably wanted him to be more like Jokic or (big version of Harden). The man.

Time to start thinking about how we resign him and Rivers next season lol

Hopefully one of them will be ok to sign for minimum or the BAE (assuming that wouldn't hard cap us)...

Pick and Roll in dantonis system with actual PNR players you can be so efficient. If Anthony Davis is listening come to Houston

I was for picking him up after the buyout lol.

This was in regards to trading for him at his obscene salary.

Hes a decent backup 5 who can do the 3 R's at a decent enough rate. Rebound, run and role to the rim.

I'm glad he is here and able to fill in minutes from injuries.

I agree on LMA being kinda soft, but he's still much bigger than Faried, and he can actually post up so...

I think the Nets just did him a solid cause between Allen, Davis and Jefferson they just didn't have minutes for him.

Seeing this man pop off, makes me wonder how Dwight, and D-mo would have been with this version of Harden, granted they don't have any drama.

Both Dwight and D-mo preferred being fed in the post.
