It's working because Harden is that good. And because the gimmick defenses break some standard rules of basketball.

Here's a game within the game. When teams hug Harden 45 feet away from the basket, we've been having him just stand there, while the rest of the team goes 4 on 4. lulz.

That produces no chance for Harden to get an assisted FG, but it also leverages the Basketball Truism -- "Offense becomes easier as you take more players off the court."

how much effort does it take to check that harden is getting 8-9 assists on average. i mean how cluelessly incompetent can this female be?

So on top of Harden having great assist totals, this stewpid idiot is implying that Harden is responsible for teaching kids how to play? That's on the youth coaches. You can't teach what Harden does, heck NBA players can't even do what Harden does - remember Stephanie Curry's lame attempt at step back 3 - then throws up "# 13" w/ his fingers !

No one ever told Kobe to pass or MJ? What all of sudden even though Hardens assists totals are soo much higher should he be passing?

 

People arent used to a ball handler hold the ball so long and score as much as Harden does. He just has the possession of the ball so much that its perceived as a ballhog. Its just out of the norm and people dont like different. Also people are salty af.

 

Whether you shoot a terrible low efficient turnaround fade-away or so what Harden does by dribbling 9 times it shouldn’t matter cuz neither is in flow of offense and neither passed. People just hate Harden it’s crazy. If he was on Lakers he would go down as top 5 player of all time.
