Teaser Spider-man Eurotrip Domestic Trailer International Trailer Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios have premiered the first trailers (domestic and international) and the first poster for “Spider-Man: Far From Home,” the upcoming sequel to “Spider-Man: Homecoming”. Tom Holland, Zendaya, Marisa Tomei, Michael Keaton, Jon Favreau and Jacob Batalon reprise and are joined by Jake Gyllenhaal as the villainous Mysterio along with Samuel L. Jackson‘s Nick Fury and Coby Smulders’ Maria Hill. Set after the events of “Avengers: Endgame,” Peter Parker goes on summer vacation to Europe with his friends and while abroad he teams up with Mysterio to battle the Elementals. The movie is slated to open in cinemas on July 5th.
So Mysterio is creating his own big baddy so that he can try and show up Spidey?? That makes sense. I like the look they gave Jake Gyllenhal too, he's not the clean cut guy I was picturing when they first leaked the casting.
This is the first movie after the end of the first 3 phases of Marvel. Endgame is literally the end of the story that started with the first Iron Man. If you actually thought Spider-man was going to stay dead longer than a movie or two you need a cat scan. I feel like you should know there's already a sequel to Black Panther in the works as well as Doctor Strange, Guardians 3 was slated to be out next year if James Gunn hadn't been fired, and I could go on. I don't think any of this takes away from the impact that was had in Infinity War. Not to mention, there's still a high chance Cap and/or Iron Man die in the next movie -- pretty sure one of those at least would stick for awhile. Spider-man is one of their cash cows, he was always going to get a sequel, especially after how well-received Homecoming was. It's the best live action Spider-man movie imo, period, Spider-man 2 (Sam Raimi) gets honorable mention.
Everyone's fake at this trailer and it's impact are a bit dramatic. Funny no mention of how Nick Fury returned and found his intergalactic pager...
I assume the play has been to kill off some og avengers. Mostly because they've been at it for 10 ish years and that gets expensive. New blood has cheaper contracts and Marvel gets away with nickel and diming their actors because it really is a brand larger than one movie My guess is Cap is the safe bet (Bucky and Falcon have been Cap in the comics) while rdj is retired into a Nick Fury like role we saw in Homecoming. Who knows with Thor though.
