Harden really dissects the game to look for any advantage. Leave it to Harden to come up with the simple plan of making 3 point shots his mid range shot.

Remember when we were never going to win anything with this gimmicky 3 point happy offense?

I mean I guess that’s one way to look at it, but when the argument was being made 4-5 years ago we were shooting what equates to about league average nowadays.

We were and continue to be ahead of the curve, but the gap is closing.

The streak was pretty dope. But the Rockets play the Magic next. Harden will be lucky to have 2 or 3 3pointers.

That’s his shtick, gonna crap on whatever Harden does. Never mind all his beloved players are scrubs, in the Chinese league or out of professional basketball altogether. That or his “seasoned eyeballs” that make all stats irrelevant. DDs knows more so Harden sucks. **** is Lame

Why do you say that? They give up 31 attempts a game which is right at league average.

You know what’s not lame? Harden is now averaging 34.1 ppg.

The career high for John Stockton and Andre Iguadola is 34. Draymond Green’s is 31. Bill Walton is at 36, Bill Russell 37, and James Worthy is at 38.

Those aren’t scrubs either, they’re hall of famers.

Tonight’s game he tied CP3 and John Havlicek’s career high. Harden is doing this regularly. This wasn’t even close to his best game. He’s scored 43 or more 8 times this year. During his MVP year he did it 6 times all year. He scored 40 or more 11 times last year and 13 this year in half the number of games.

    #insane

LeBron James has 91 games of 40+ points for his career of 16 seasons. Harden has 24 in less than 2 seasons.
(Harden has 62 for his career if you’re curious)

Indeed, but their 3 point philosophy also cost them the West title last year. Of course Paul going down was a killer but missing 27 three pointers in a row in game 7 dug their grave.

I feel like this is the new norm for harden.

You can tell he’s been working his but off in the gym to have the lower and upper body strength to get that step back off 15+ times a game.

He’s always been a good shooter from deep, elite even when you would look at his catch and shoot numbers from years past. His % would go down because of his tough step back threes he was taking.

Now that’s prob the most efficient shot in the game besides the dunk and free throw. But only for him, nobody else can do it and it’s taken harden 5 yrs to master it.

The way hes playing right now will prolong his career. Shooting from deep and not driving as much is the way to go for longevity.

I also think these 13-30 40 point Games and the 15-35 40 point games are what we will see in the playoffs.

I think harden has turned the corner and really figured out how to do what he wants even against great teams in tough situations. Everyone’s efficiency goes down in the playoffs but it’s can u still get your numbers and impact the game.

No surprise to me, he’s in his 10th season he’s 29 in his mental prime and the mid age of his physical prime. He’s seen everything he’s played in the big games now he’s ready to take over.

Awesome. I find it hard to believe that James Worthy never had a 40 point game.

I wonder if it is possible for Harden to beat Kobe's 35ppg season. He needs a 60 point game to really bring his average up.

Harden could have scored 60 last night if he wanted to.

The Rockets never get to Game 7 without their 3 point philosophy. So it's a loss either way.

And 29 teams with less aggressive 3 point strategies didn't even make the Conference Finals.

    Let's put it another way:

The most dominant team in the history of the NBA, the Warriors, needed the Rockets to go 0 - 27 from 3 point range in Game 7 of the Western Conference finals in order to escape with a win in a series the Rockets clearly deserved to win despite losing the 2nd best player in game 5.

I wish harden would stop forcing 3’s! When you clearly are off, 1/17 is pathetic!!!!

    Go Rockets!!!

Harden cared more about the streak continuing than the Rockets winning that game. His play and decision making made that fairly obvious.

    That is pretty disappointing
