I understand why you would say that....but who do you see being available at CB or WR in free agency?
JJ Nelsen, DJax, John Brown. All three have great speed and would be a great 3 or 4 to get snaps when Fuller or Coutee get hurt. The Texans should look at the tackle market which will end up being pretty decent in FA. Ja'Wuan James from the Dolphins should be a guy that the Texans look at in FA. 27 years old, Above Average RT. Donovan Smith of the Buccaneers as well. He is an iron man which always bodes well for consistency on the OL. CB free agency class is not good. I would certainly eye CB as a first rounder if it is there and he can cover.
I felt this way for a long time. I knew DW4 was not his call, after he continued to chose Mallett, Hoyer, Savage, etc. Also, we had a GOOD O-LINE but he didn't like Brandon Brooks and Ben Jones and he went after Jeff Allen. This draft will tell
If the Sickle Cell issues are past John Brown I would definitely pay him in FA. Brown and Fuller are twins in playing style. A healthy Brown/Fuller outside with Nuk in the slot is where great things can happen. Plus you would have depth in Coutee/Carter.
Unfortunately for Houston, olinemen, especially Left tackles and Corners are expensive but I see them taking one from FA in the offseason. Preferrably a seasoned LT if you are going to spent big money anyway. We simply must protect our future QB or he is going to spend a lot of time on IR. In the draft I like (OT) J.Williams, Y. Cajuste, D. Edwards and D. Risner. I have a feeling we take Kris Boyd CB Texas in the first.
With Coutee and Fuller you need at least 3 guys for 2 positions. One of them is going to be injured at any time.
[Premium Post] 2-3 O-linemen (with at least 1 in the first 2 rounds), 1 RB, 1 CB, and 2-3 best defensive players possible regardless of position. No need to draft QBs, TE, or WRs. Your best draft investments come from QBs and linemen since these players have the longest careers (since footspeed is less important). GOOD DAY
Texans desperately need to address the OL. It’s not as simple as putting a big guy with potential up front. Texans need legit talent to block opposing NFL pass rush’s. I get it, sometimes there is a CB, LB, WR, Etc.. that have more talent in the early draft rounds; but good O-Linemen don’t typically move around as long as they are still effective. Hence, You can’t just draft 5th, 6th, and 7th round OL and think you’ll strike lightning in a bottle. So it will be an exciting draft, in filling the talent in the O line.

Clearly, the Texans need a WR #2. You can't count on Will Fuller. I'd get one with one of the second round picks, if you don't package one to move up in the first and get a stud LT. I would almost venture to say Corner and WR are a bigger need than OL. We need to bring in a stud OL and maybe a good corner in free agency. I wouldn't mind Lil'Jordan Humphrey in the third. That guy will be a player.
