we lost in the eerily similar manner to the spurs in 16-17 in rs in houston
10 pts lead 3 minutes to go
we chucked 3s early in the shotclock and harden went ultra iso mode with a couple of turnovers in a row, and gordon missed 1 or 2 open 3s for the win
meanwhile spurs hit all of their shots

Superstar Luka Doncic took over I heard?

    Where were Houston's superstars?

Can Luka teach Harden & Chris how to close out games?

    1) Mavericks are better
    2) Losing Luka in the corner off a defensive breakdown to start the run and change momentum
    3) Rockets find ways to lose this season

Got to play the last 24 minutes like the first. The rox sometimes do no respect the game the same in bot halves. They come out and bust people in the mouth and then they back off once they feel like they put the other team in their place. The other team just keeps playing and they win. Simple

Boom and bust offense with too much 3 pt chucking plus poor rebounding.

Other teams figure out the problem and use the different strategy in the 2nd half?

Yeah man it’s getting hard to watch the second half. It started with skipping out on ot bc no faith in this team to close, then the 4th...pretty soon it will be highlights only and the last 5 minutes if its close

This years team is turning me into a casual fan. If it weren’t for the 16 season I wouldn’t know what I was seeing and questioning whats wrong all year thinking this team is too talented to really be this bad.

I posted this in the game thread - but seems to apply here..

MDA has no clue regarding proper minute management... he runs his starters into the ground - as he's always done...

Us and Dallas both went 9 players deep...
diff is they had 1 guy above above 32 minutes (26 yo Barnes @ 37)...
we had 33 yo Tucker @ 39 mins, 33 yo CP3 @ 38 and 29 yo Harden @37... and we're missing free throws and throwing up airballs down the stretch.... cant imagine why... lol

I dgaf who he 'trusts' and 'doesnt trust'... you gotta play the hand yer dealt... play a deeper rotation and/or disburse the minutes better...

If guys suck - put em on the floor anyway... Force Morey to make moves... hiding guys on the bench (at the detriment to our starters) isn't benefiting our old ass team... lol

Clark is good enough to sign to a multi year deal - but not good enough to make it on the floor while we're runnin 33 yo dudes for 38 or 39 minutes? WTF... smh...

PS - all our bench players had a positive +/- and all our starters were at a minus.... so take that for statistics! lol! ;)

Mike always tries to win at all costs. Even if that means his teams get worn out and lose in the playoffs because of season fatigue.

That and his players always get injured. He has had too many talented teams to never make the finals. The reason why is because he is shortsighted and doesn’t trust his players to be able to compete. This ruins their confidence as well.

Hardens injury early in the season came after the game where he logged heavy minutes in a back to back.

Being fresh and rested matters, but I don’t blame him. He is just trying to win games at all costs. Getting those dubs helps boost confidence as well

    true...

    other teams make adjustments...

we 'just play our game' and try to get x number of 3 pt attempts...

MDA looks like a genius when it works - and a stubborn idiot when it don't... lol

I've always said MDA is too focused on his reg season stats - than long term success...

to your point - he has no idea how to manage his players psyches... look at the shell that Ryno became... i aint sayin his downfall was MDA's fault - but he sure didnt resurrect him... No, we had to move him at an all time low bc we 'couldnt have him around...' ...smh...

Ryan Anderson is a good example of how confidence can ruin a player on the court. Mike put him in the dog house a few times and he never looked like an nba player again after the last time he got hurt and was ready. He could have played him at the end of the season at the cost of a couple of wins, but mike wanted to keep winning meaningless games to secure first seed by a mile I guess.

I dont know how chris paul doesnt LOOSE HIS **** when playing with HARDEN.

Against Mavs in 3rd quarter, harden literally had FOUR PLAYS BACK TO BACK where he turned the ball over... TO START THE F****** 3RD QUARTER!

Get the ball out of hardens hands when EFFECTIVE/EFFECIENT PLAYS Need to be made.

    exactly!
and iirc Luc got injured in a meaningless game - and never was the same... so that may have cost us a championship...

People always say that MDA hasnt won it all bc of unfortunate injuries... but how many of those injuries were due to his own shortsightedness and pushing guys in his search for regular season glory?
I'd bet money that if not for the Luc injury, he'd have had our starters out there the last game of the regular season pushing for the #1 offensive efficiency - Hoping to have 'a season that could be cherished - even wo a championship' - lol!

yeh... you'd think the coach would call a different play... oh, thats right... he's too worried about stepping on Harden's toes and getting 'McHaled'... lol

We do not have enough players to play the whole game effectively - 48 minutes plus OT.
