No, I don't think that's good depth either. Holiday is good and Mirotic is sometimes good, otherwise... no one on that roster I love

Dumpster fire bench, regression of key players, and no defensive effort

i suspect its because of the hindsight
nobody loved gsw depth in 2013-14 until they suddenly start winning championships

and you would have loved our depth had it happened that we went 15 : 2 to start the season

on the other hand what is a good depth?
give me some team you think they have depth?
    celtics?
dude, the depth is their problem

you cant have steph curry on positions 6-9

theres a lot of shoting and playmaking at pelicans roster besides davis holiday and mirotic

harden would have been sitting at seed no 1 right now if he had all those players davis has behind him

Not having nene. When capella sat down, nene came in you didnt miss a beat. Also get Gordon and green knocking shots down and you see what knight can do. Rockets will be alright.

    Paul - OLD INJURED STAR
    Harden - SUPERSTAR
    Ennis - INCONSISTENT
    Tucker - OLD QUALITY PLAYER
    Capela - YOUNG QUALITY PLAYER
    Gordon - INCONSISTENT
    Clark - YOUNG & PROMISING
    Green - TRASH
    MCW - TRASH
    Hartenstein - YOUNG
    Nene - OLD INJURED TRASH
    Edwards - TRASH
    Anthony - WANTS TO LEAVE
    Chriss - TRASH
    Knight - INJURY/POSSIBLE TRASH
    Zhou - TRASH
    House - TRASH

So, out of 17 players on the roster, ONLY 3 CAN BE DEPENDED ON EVERY NIGHT...Harden, Tucker, Capela. This is your problem.

Rebounding... Anderson at least provided decent rebounding last season. Second chance points hurt us.
Interior defense.... teams keep attacking the rim once Capela switches.
    3-pt shooting needs to improve.
Bench production is non-existent, which was a strength the past two seasons.
    Turnovers.

Having only 3 dependable players with zero cap space to improve

Yes, I would in fact love our depth if the depth was good.

There are a few ways to look at this. An simple, if imperfect, one: teams sorted by net rating of their bench players.

Our bench unit is actually in the top half so they're not horrible, but we're starting a bench-quality player at SF so having a deeper bench would be helpful. FWIW, NOP bench unit is ranked #21 in the league in net rating. So yeah, they don't have good depth.

    Code:
    https://stats.nba.com/teams/advanced/?sort=NET_RATING&dir=-1&Season=2018-19&SeasonType=Regular%20Season&StarterBench=Bench
Indiana: Joseph, Sabonis, Tyreke, McDermott, Holiday
Denver: Barton, Hernangomez, Morris, Lyles, Beasley, Plumlee
LAC: Lou, Harrell, SGA (has started about half his games), Luc, Scott
Dallas: Dorian, Barea, Kleber, Powell, Harris

But you can click the link and look at it. If you sort by offensive rating for bench units, we are 2nd to last. That's not good. We also have the worst shooting bench

I think their issue is a bit more complicated than that. They have a terrible shot selection and are trying to reincorporate a not-ready Hayward. Plus Tatum's game was changed/ruined by Kobe over the offseason.

If their depth is an issue it's a relatively minor one. Yes, I suspect that Terry Rozier wants more minutes and more shots, so to that extent their depth is an issue.

Agreed, which is why I never said that.

NOP bench unit is ranked 15th in assist percentage, 17th in asst/to ratio, and 15th in TS%. So, pretty middle of the road by those measures.

I'm baffled as to how you arrive at this conclusion. Melton is currently bench-riding for the worst team in the league. He's seen action in just 4 of the Suns' 20 games. His totals for this season are: 10 pts, 8 rebs, 2 asts, 4 stls, 1 blk, 4 tovs.

If he can't see the floor for the league's dead-last team, I don't see him as a difference-maker here at all, much less Beverley 2.0.

There are a number of factors, but mainly it comes down to an awful, disastrous series of offseason moves by the GM. I like Morey and I'm glad he's here, but it's hard to fathom how he could have bungled the offseason so badly, especially after a couple of years of brilliant moves. The worst of it was the Melo signing. Melo poisoned the well.

    Us giving up on Melo

Morey & MDA being little b****es and using Melo as a scape. I believe Wade when he said that cause he actually knows him personally and CP3 and Harden admitted the front office didnt tell them
