Coincidentally it’s being done in his contract year.

    Let Kareem walk?
    Think AJ Bouye.
Surely one of the three Safeties can play decent CB? Like erm, Kareem?

Hypothetically, if Texans were to pursue Bell, yes!

Bouye was 25. Kareem is 30.

Honestly, this wouldn’t matter had the Texans let Kevin Johnson walk.

when it comes to RBs, I'd rather draft them at ages 21/22 then signing them 5 seasons later.
And if you run a system, where the whole is greater than the sum of its parts like the zone, you can find gems in the much much later rounds.

contract year yes, but since he has been moved to safety, he has been much better than average.

He could have another 4 good years left in him - JJo is 34 and playing good football.
Also, JJo may only have one more season in him and we would be short of vets familiar with Crennel's system.

We’re drafting a CB and OT in the first three rounds no matter what Kareem or this year’s OL do. If Kareem wants to take a JJo-like paycut then by all means bring him back. We’re not going to pay him as if this year’s performance is sustainable.

should definitely not pursue Bell. Steelers current run game shows that most of the success was the O-line and not Bell. Let someone else over pay for an RB.

Great time to have a buy! Gives DT time to learn the playbook and get accustomed to the offense.

I discussed this in depth on our podcast this weekend. Reid has been the true star of the defense, especially stepping up and being a tackle machine while Cunningham is out. Kareem has found the fountain of youth, and his versatility puts him in line as the defensive MVP... however, Honeybadger's leadership cannot be undersold. The only real change since last season's secondary trainwreck was Reid and Honeybadger, and I truly think that Honeybadger mentoring our secondary is why they've had so much success.

In a perfect world, we'd retain Reemboi, Honeybadger and likely franchise tag Clowney. Retaining Joseph through 2019 is an option too, and while he has lost a step, his cap hit isn't high in his final year. They have a lot of options for contracts in the secondary and plenty of cap room, I think they lock them all down. I think they also give Kevin Johnson the OTAs and camp to rebuild his game, but he may be cut by the start of the season - freeing up some space.

No way they let Kareem walk, and he loves it here. I think Kareem retires a Texan.

I don't agree with this, use the Steeler's success to help negotiate. Bell is a real talent, he's proved that. Scheme only does so much.

Little self-plug. See my signature, bye week or not, we are still having live game-chat tomorrow on our Discord.

It would b silly to let him go.
Contract year or not, he is playing the best football of his career. Perhaps he has clicked with TM, but you cannot underrate durability and system knowledge.
We will lose JJoe soon and KJo may not be very good so keeping KJack is a priority.

Will the offense come out an be great or lay an egg next week?

Bill seems to do worse the more time he has to plan. Vs throw DW in there and Justin Kern him create from a playbook that isn’t so B’Ob heavy.

    He’s 3-1 in bye weeks

75% is much superior to his overall record so this is fake news.

No!!!!! He deserves the respect of an offer to resign. He has earned it!! Sign them both!! We need strength against the pass.

Do people hate BoB so much that they just make bullshit up? BoB actually has a great record after the bye. The loss last season was the amazing 41-38 away loss in Seattle... and his ONLY post-bye loss as head coach. They won at JAX in 2016, at CIN in 2015 and at CLE in 2014 after byes. ALL ROAD GAMES.
