Actually, it's even a little stupider than that. First, the new San Diego franchise decided that the team's slogan would be "Zoom to the Moon!" due to local General Dynamics being the developer of the Atlas missile and booster rocket program. Then they held a fan contest in San Diego to choose the name. Rockets won. In other words, they picked the team name to match the slogan, rather than vice versa like any smart organization would do it.
You go with NASA then we can't complain every time we hear the very, very tired "Houston, we have a problem."

Remember guys. It's a process. It's a long process to get new uniforms or change new unforms. Meanwhile everyone gets new uniforms almost every year. Lakers just so happened to ask for new uniforms 2 seasons ago lining up perfectly with LeBron era? Nuggets asked 2 seasons ago? Clippers got new uniforms and logos exactly as they got a new Owner? Sterlings cheap ass started the process 2 season prior? Etc. Whatever man. It's always a process for us and we never even start the process apparently.
At this point after so long of waiting to go back to our championship brand and identity, we'll get a change and probably hate it. The new H-Town City edition uniforms feature rear shorts pocket to represent "Trunks popping" and for allowing players to easily dispose of waste instead of all over themselves like the 2018-2019 season.
I always thought of Luv ya blue as home-grown overachievers rather than losers and chokers. Kicking the door in while paying homage to that time in Houston's past would be sweet. But to each his own.
@el gnomo Ironically, I saw two people in California wearing NASA shirts this week. Foot Locker is currently selling them there too.
N NASA exists outside of Houston as well... California has 3 locations if I’m not mistaken. Here in the Bay Area NASA is in Mountain View right next to Google. The other two are in Pasadena and Edwards Airforce base. So seeing someone wearing NASA gear in California is pretty common. As far as our jerseys, burn them all. I honestly would prefer the “Flying Dildo” over these. Tillman needs a rebrand ASAP.

Rockets designers and owners are just idiots, these jerseys make no sense. Rockets haven’t ever tried to get rid of these horror designs this 2011-12. Even worse since the shoulder trim and Nike’s half assed changes.
