We did not bring him here to replace Trevor Ariza.

We did not bring him here to replace Luc Mbah a Moute.

We brought him here to replace Ryan Anderson.

Number of times Anderson scored at least 28 points in a game last season? Zero. Melo is already proving he's an upgrade. It was an excellent, cost-efficient signing by Morey and far cheaper than what we were getting from Anderson last year. Ennis/MCW's attempt to replicate Ariza/Luc being an utter disaster doesn't change that.

Imagine if we didn't trade Ryno and did not sign Melo. Would people be expecting Anderson to be replacing Ariza/Luc? No! Why? Because that would be stupid!

He's been worse than Anderson this season. Anthony is honestly just awful. His defense was still clearly weak and he was bad with his foot speed and positioning most of the second half. Some good plays defensively but zero consistency.

Yeah enjoy. I'm glad he has at least been nailing shots a bit the past week.

Can't see how he's been worse than Ryan this season.. 20+ points in 3 of the first 7 games of the season is already an upgrade. Defensively it's tough to be much weaker than Ryan Anderson. Even if you consider each player's defense a wash (even though I think Melo is still slightly better defensively), Carmelo is a huge upgrade already from Ryan A. and that's without taking into consideration the price tag of each player this season.

    Melo>>>Anderson

I agree. Ryno was complete trash last year. Especially after he injured himself dunking. Getting Ennis back tonight helped because MCW and Harenstein are unplayable for any significant minutes.

If we are going to bash someone for not playing up to expectations it should start with EG, not Melo.

Anthony's defence was decent in spurts - especially when we were down big. He got the puppies moving on Lavert a few posessions in a row.

If he plays like tonight and people still complain... like wow!

Is Anthony “good”? No way.. Is he better and WAY CHEAPER than Ryan Anderson? **** yeah..

There’s ZERO reason to complain about Melo tonight

This game is an L if we had Ryno instead of Melo, period.

Honestly, your post is just awful.

Anderson was actually good as a starter the first 20 or so games last year. Passable defense and lit the league on fire for a few weeks. Anthony has clearly been awful on both ends to start here. Not debatable.

    Just stop.

Take the obvious hater glasses off.

In what f*cking world is scoring 28 points worse than being too scared to shoot the ball exactly?

Anderson ended the season with 59 TS% despite being awful for months. His highs were very high. Anderson LAST YEAR was better than Carmelo LAST year. Let alone Carmelo this year who looks even worse.
