Wish we traded Fisher at the deadline. This offseason, we should trade him and salvage whatever value he still has left before he loses it. Thank you for Fisher scoring the winning run in Game 5! But now, mission accomplished, and I see no future for him here. So trade him either for a "Luhnow Lottery" prospect, or as a throw in for someone else (like Realmuto, or a pitcher or something).

I was under the impression based on the news report today that McCullers threw a very light bullpen session and will most likely throw another one this weekend if everything looks good.

Going to be a tough call, but as of today, I don't see them keeping both White and Gattis.

Easy call. White is the backup infielder (because Marwin will be the LF) and Gattis is the DH and emergency catcher. Both guys deserve to be on the roster and in the lineup. If it were me I’d leave Gurriel off before White or Gattis.

From what I've seen the past month or so, White is the DH/backup 1B, Gurriel is the 1B/backup IF, and Gattis is the backup DH/4th catcher. Unless Gattis regains the starting DH spot and pushes White to 1B fulltime, he isn't going to replace Gurriel. Personally, I don't expect much difference in the value of Gattis and Gurriel's bat. As I think Gurriel adds more positional flexibility and is a better defender than White, I would keep him over Gattis. Gattis most likely will need to push a reliever or an additional OF off the roster to make a playoff roster.

Assuming no injuries of the position players moving forward...

I can see them keeping both through the first round... bigger question mark is the 2nd round... no chance to keep both in the World Series with Gattis more likely left off due to defense.

And the irony of the situation is that Gattis makes more sense in the World Series than he does in the AL playoffs considering more pinch hitters may be needed in NL parks.

Where do you put him in double switches though? He played less than a full game all year at catcher... hasn't played outfield in two years now...

Didn’t say anything about double switches. With more position players there is less of a need for the double switch.

It's so frustrating watching the Astros not consistently getting on base like last season. So many hitless innings.

Crazy to think that Devo and Harris aren't locks after last season, but that's what a year will do in the MLB.

Have to see what LMJ does when he returns before declaring him a lock for the ALDS.

Also want to see what James does with more outings, but I like the idea of him and. Sipp over Devo looks very likely right now as a LH batter specialist.

Assuming LMJ is healthy, I would go with the op locks and Sipp, James, and Smith. Then for the ALCS add Peacock over James or Smith for another long relief option.
