Saturday at 3pm on ABC13. Among pre-season games, this is the 'big one.' Starters get some decent minutes. Will we see JJ? Whit? Clowney? Hopkins? Mathieu? How much will DW4 play? Go Texans!
Let the franchise play a quarter then let Weeden finish it out. Hopefully KeKe and Coates are able to play.
I would personally like to see Webb spin it up a bit as well. Especially after his dramatic come back win last week.
While i do agree that have two diametrically opposed QBs changes the schemes, I also think that (god forbid) the texans have to rely on a backup it would be nice to have both Weeden and Webb to leave some mystery as to what the texans scheme is. I just don't know if carrying 3 qbs is possible, although Webb could contribute in other areas ...so who knows.
I think the opposing defense would let out a sigh of relief if Weeden came in as opposed to Webb. Defenses HATE facing mobile QBs. Hopefully a moot point.
I'm not sure about that honestly. Webb finished the game with a really nice throw last week, but before that he was looking like straight up trash....and that's against 3rd string guys. I think if ANY defense saw Webb heading into the game, they'd cheer because their team just won the game. It wouldn't be much different if Weeden came into the game, the main difference is that Weeden is a better passer. Going with Webb isn't terribly different than just having Braxton Miller be the backup.
This. If Deshaun is healthy who gives a **** who the backup is. If Deshaun is hurt we have our 1st so let’s get as high of a pick as we can.
Things to look for in this game. Does Watson have enough time to throw? Which receiver will get cut? Miller ? Keke... do we love him... do you love me? Or is he riding the bench all year?
What if they cut the full back and just roll with the Thor rice package, TE lining up as fb? That would open up a position and they've been doing that more with watson. I'd like to keep all 3 too.
