Hope to see big JT get some catches this game. I think he can be a main weapon for the starting lineup. Especially if he's gotten his blocking down.

Man Jordan's got some speed going there. Quicker than he looks.

Yeah apparently him and Akins both have vertical speed and reliable hands. That would have been a td, if it wasn't under thrown. I think the coaches are confident in Thomas' receiving ability and that's why the majority of his reps in the first preseason game were blocking assignments. If he can continue to improve at blocking, we might really have a good player here.

I’d like to point out that Jimmy Graham isn’t a good blocker

Jimmy Graham is closer to Akins size though. Thomas is much bigger and that's why they hope that he can be a good blocker.

If he turns out to be anything like Graham he would be one of the top steals of the draft.

How often do poor blocking TE's ever improve enough to make a difference ?

I dont necessarily think he was a poor blocker, i just dont think he was asked to do so at Miss. St.

If Thomas can be serviceable at blocking, oh man. It may sound crazy but I think he can get stronger. 6'6'' 270lb but he's just a rookie. Hopefully our strength and conditioning guys and coaches can make him a stud, I could see him having a bright future with Watson at the helm.

Just met Jordan at Kroger by NRG -- basket full of Gatorade. He didn't say anything bad (or good) about O'Brien, but said he's just a rookie so he wouldn't know. He said the vets haven't said anything bad, but I think he just didn't want to speak anything negative. He also said sometimes he goes to sleep with $20 in his bank account, then the next morning.. STACKS. He was taller and bigger than everyone.

This guy could be a real steal if they ever decide to invest some snaps in using actual TEs to move chains.
