But, for the influence of the League office, and CP3's hammy, we'd be gunning for a repeat. That's history though.... We're on our way to having much more than last year. I know there's a contingent that still doubt Melo....I get it, but...in actuality, we ARE the perfect fit for him. Doubt the final product after DM is finished. The regular season will be good, but it is in the playoffs that we will absolutely crush everyone... Yes, **** GS....and Boston, for that matter. C'mon. : ) Enjoy things from here in, for these are truly days of grace. Get ready for a year that we'll all remember for the rest of our lives. And, then the parade.
Maybe.... but probably not. However just having the conversation is different than the last 20+ years.
Man if only we could unload Ryan Anderson for James Johnson. I would definitely say we are winning the championship. Just watched highlights, but the starting line up of Cp3 Harden Melo Johnson Capela Would be up there with Golden State Melo and Johnson would be interchangeable because Melo can't bang with Aldridge or AD, but Johnson could guard them and when we play say the Nuggets or Warriors Melo can guard Milsap and Donkey
The pressure is on the Rockets though. Making the Finals is the only way to have a successful season. Harden MVP again would be...BIG. He can do it. Stay Melo and humble.
True without sports too Healthy Rockets can win 60 again without overexerting themselves. Enjoy the journey.
1. The Warriors have zero depth/bench. 2. At least one of their Hamptons Five lineup is on a serious decline. I'm starting to think Green has already peaked and is joining Iggy down that Peak Mountain next year. 3. They will experience at least one significant injury. Not wishing ill will upon them but that team has played a combined 82 playoff/Finals season games over the past 4 post-seasons. Someone will get hurt because *see #1* 4. The West is tougher this year. There are about 10 playoff contending teams and maybe 2 (Dallas, LA Clippers) that will put up a good fight. That means everyone, including the Warriors, will have to bring at least their B+ game every night which could lead to #3 because of #1 5. Cousins will either be a non-factor and won't be the same player he once was or he'll become the black hole we all know and torpedo the chemistry/system/flow Golden State had before his arrival
@Zboy we need you to douse these flames of optimism with your tears of pessimism stored up after the Melo acquisition.
As all teams currently stand, and excluding injuries, I seriously doubt it. GSW are still the team to beat while Rockets can be said to have traded a lot of defense for potentially more offense (which the team didnt need imo) Playing against GSW. they will be better prepared and Rockets will likely be worse defensively, which means better freedom for GSW to pick on specific players (e.g. Harden , Melo, etc)
If we can get any type of defensive minded player for RA, I would have to stay seated for five to six minutes...lol...but seriously I’d be very excited....We played a game seven last year where RA was thrown into the game like a rookie who’s getting his first chance. Any type of defensive addition for him would be a huge plus.
A lot of Rocket fans are a lil too priveledged and ungrateful. Last season and for the upcoming season the Rockets are at where we've all been waiting for them to be, and all people do is complain. We have a great team and Morey still isnt satisfied. He's going for the kill. We need to be positive and support this team. I agree that the Rockets can win it all. Morey isnt done and I love the team as is so Im excited to see what else he has up his sleeve. Whats Tony Allen up to these days?
