Tyler White I would imagine if Kemp and Jake are already on the roster.

    Maybe something like this?

    C-McCann

    3B-Bregman
    SS-Correa
    LF-Marwin
    CF-Springer
    RF-Reddick
    DH-Gattis

    Bench:
    Kemp
    Marisnick
    Maldonado
    White

    Rotation:
    Verlander
    Cole
    Keuchel
    Morton

    Pen:
    McCullers
    Sipp
    Pressly
    McHugh
    Peacock
    Devo
    Rendon
    Osuna

I don't think they'll carry 12 pitchers in the ALDS.

If McCullers is healthy, Peacock is almost certainly out because they're, more or less, redundant, in terms of role.

Fair point, they did carry 11 pitchers in last year's ALDS.

In that case I'd say Peacock or Pressly doesn't make the team and maybe someone like Fisher or a waiver trade guy makes the roster.

Oh, I think Pressly's a lock to make the roster.

And assuming full health for Marisnick and Kemp, I don't see what role Fisher could play. He adds almost zero value, other than speed.

I don't know whether this will be the case or not, but it's insane if it is. Peacock: 2.84 ERA, 75 K's in 50 innings, 0.99 WHIP, and he's been even better since the All-Star Break in all those categories. That's arguably the 1-2 bullpen pitchers on 20+ teams in MLB, and he's better than he was last year when he played a critical role in the playoff run. I can't imagine there's no spot / role for him on this team.

    Peacock: 3.39 FIP; .0987 WHIP
    Smith: 3.43 FIP; .0949 WHIP

Peacock has had a nice start to August - but he was awful in July. Smith, meanwhile, has a 1.16 ERA since May. So he'd probably be ahead of Peacock, too,

Astros have an abundance of bullpen arms; it'll be a tough cut, whoever it is.

FIsher would fill the pinch runner role. If only carrying 11 pitchers you have the luxury of adding guys to fill one small job.

If they make it that far, 11 pitchers in the DS, 12 in the CS.

Kyle Tucker has shown absolutely nothing to support him being on a playoff roster. Zero.

I didn't even realize Smith wasn't on that roster list. Yeah, that's insane. Devo has some work to do to prove himself again too.

Unless he magically turns into 2004 Beltran down the stretch, if Tucker is on our playoff roster this year something has gone horribly wrong.

I agree. He looks overmatched. Try to trade him in the off-season to see who bites.

That is in no way what anyone is saying. They're not very likely to trade him unless if's for an established star.

In no way do I want to give up on him. I'm just saying he isn't there yet.

When I see the way ronald acuna hits I just wished Tucker was like him. Acuna lived up to his hype, Tucker did not.

Astros could use Kemp or Marisnick off the bench in the same role and they provide way more value in other areas. Fisher would be a waste of a roster spot probably keeping a great bullpen arm off the roster
