You have to give up either Morree or Harden, who do you pick?

I absolutely love Harden and what he brings to the Rockets, but...

Who was it that got Harden here? Who is damn good at making said player happy? Who is it that built the team that should have won the 2018 title? I know, I know the Rockets haven’t won yet. Yes players talk and get other players to come play with them. Who has to have the team in position to make things happen?

Titles ultimately matter I know. Morey hasn’t won yet, but neither has Harden.

I think Morey is incredibly underrated and undervalued by so much of this board. Dude is just light years ahead of everyone. I believe Morey has the ability to land stars for years and years to come. So my vote is i’d get rid of Harden first.

For the record, I wouldn’t want to lose James. Just saying.

 

Have to keep Morey.
With his history of making moves and building a solid team year after year. Just think what assets, and young players he would be able to get for him. The rockets would be alright.

We havent won crap jack with morey. We got 2 WCF with harden. Throw Morey to a shitty market nba team and he will be trash just like the rest. Houston is one of the biggest nba market, we can get free agents here. Put morey in Charlotte and see how he do, bet you nothing.

Why would you throw away the great team we have now for an uncertain future?

Morey is an amazing GM, but he isn't the second coming of GM jesus. No guarantee he can rebuild a contender a second time around.

 

Yup, get rid of Harden and this team wont make the playoffs...Put harden in a team like sac and they will be making the playoffs every single year.

This poll is biased because it comes right after harden's THICC pics come out. But honestly I'd pick moray anyday. Obviously superstars are needed to win a championship, but a top tier gm is gonna find a way to get you that. Moray's value is longer lasting than what harden can bring for the next few years, if you get rid of moray.

I think Morey could build a pretty solid team around Anthony Davis and Chris Paul, Antentokounpo and Chris Paul, Jimmy Butler and Chris Paul, Lebron James and Chris Paul etc. I'd rather have Harden, but while we're getting crazy with hypotheticals...

This hypothetical also doesn't indicate whether we get to trade/swap them for someone else, or whether they just suddenly decide to quit their job and move to the mountains of Tibet and leave us hanging.

Losing a star can put you in the dark ages for years, but getting a bad GM can put you in the dark ages for a decade.
