Ummm. yeah you can say Green is better than Ariza/Green because Arizas minutes caused green to spend a lot of time on the bench while Ariza played every minute. Now Green will get those minutes and Ariza is gone. Check that game 7 stat again from the WCF? and at $15 million to boot?

“Green will have better numbers than Ariza!!”...makes no mention of the defensive side of the floor...

I saw everything I needed to see from Ariza in game 7 of WCF vs Warriors
    Ariza 42 minutes played FG 0-12 // 3p 0-9 // FT 0-0 // BLK 0

I’m not sure if we are “Officially Better” , BUT, if the “Officiating” doesn’t improve, we are “Officially Screwed” anyways!! :(

    Go Rockets!!!

Ariza had nowhere to go after that game 7 stat line...except away.

The numbers refer to defensive stats as well
    Ariza MPG33.9 // RB 4.4 // STL1.5 // BLK0.2
    Green MPG22.7 // RB 3.2 // STL0.6 // BLK0.4

Increase Greens minutes and you will see the steals and Rebounds switch. Already Green has more blocks with and average of 12 minutes less per game.

I get the disappointment over losing Ariza. I think with the offer he got from Phoenix it’s just something we have to accept and hope we overcome. I think he’s replaceable but he also deserves the respect of being acknowledged for his loss. Having said that, it’s ridiculous to say we’re capped out anyway so we should pay everyone whatever they want just to bring back the whole roster.

The Luc praise is ridiculous. He was definitely great this past regular season; exceeded expectations, but some of you have to accept he was nothing to our playoff run. Would have loved to have him back at the minimum and as a reserve. Glad he’s not getting a big chunk of our mid level and isn’t our starter.

Seriously? There’s far more to defense than just block and steal numbers. C’mon man...

What were Harden's stats in those last 2 games? Did he put up Dream-like performances to lift the team to that lone needed win? Are you going to only judge him based on that?

Ariza might've sucked, but he was not the only one who did, and it's myopic to only look at that last game to judge the contributions he brought to a very successful team. He was also on the floor for 42 minutes for a reason.

I like Daryl Morey too, but you fanboys gotta cut it out. This offseason thus far has been miserable. To act like the MCW signing is a success says more about your obsession with anything Morey does, than it does the terrible signing.

Guys, you have to watch more than Game 7, thats not how you judge basketball. I'm not trying to be rude but it really makes you look bad when you try to say a player is bad by posting game 7 stats. Ariza was so important for us that series, you guys dont even know.

No, the Rockets right now are not better than last year.

Ennis replaces Luc and is arguably as good or better because he is younger and will likely be a better offensive option than Moute. Defensively Moute is better because he was longer and had a very high basketball IQ. However, Ennis will see an improvement playing for the Rockets so it is at worst a push.

The Rockets have not replaced Trevor Ariza and Gerald Green is not as good as Ariza. However the Rockets are likely to still add through either the MLE or trading Anderson/Gordon. I suspect that whoever the Rockets get from such a deal will be better than Ariza.

The Rockets will likely add Carmelo Anthony to their PF rotation and Melton could surprise people as a contributor as a rookie, especially as a defender and passer.

The Rockets could still sign a quality free agent or two for the minimum. If you believe what I have been told, the Rockets are looking at various back up point guards to see if any of them will take the minimum and be satisfied with bench minutes. Yes this is AFTER the Rockets signed MCW.

    Yes he can...

    Anti-jinx.

Losing Harden or CP for a season ends our championship hopes.

    He's not done yet!
Ariza was paid $15 million and Green is getting $2.4million. That's a bullet dodged (on the highest stage Ariza Choked) and I believe Green is better right now than Ariza anyways..and the numbers show it!

Mbah moute is chronically injured and Ennis is getting $1 million less than him. the numbers also show that Ennis is every bit the offensive player that Luc is. So how is this offseason miserable? For real.. the stats do mean something which is the point showing them makes. You do realize this team is made on player stats on performance? It's what the rockets are known for.

This is the most insightful response I've read yet. We are just going to disagree that Ariza is better than Green. I guess that's what it comes down to. In the playoffs and what I am seeing now shows me that Green getting some of Ariza's minutes will make the Rockets better IMO.
