Morey is not paying him $100 million. Take the qualifying offer and await your destiny as an asset in a trade for our 3rd superstar.
QO, here we come. He's got Armstrong telling him he's worth more than the Rockets are willing to pay. Still, I'd offer 5/100 with PO and leave it at that.
Sounds like he drinking the same tea most delusional posters have about what he is actually worth!! Smartest thing Morey has done all off season. Capela needs to humble himself and take his biggest contact in his career.
He needs to take a look at what happened to the other centers who left Harden. Their games turned to crap. They are either out of the league or being shipped from one team to the next. There's even a noticeable drop off when harden tries to rest for a minute. All of the sudden Capela can't score anymore. It's no coincidence. Take the offer. Don't be the next Asik or D-Mo.
Per NBA Salary Cap Faq: When the player is playing under a one-year contract (excluding any option year) and will have Larry Bird or Early Bird rights at the end of the season. This includes first round draft picks following their fourth (option) season, who accept their team's qualifying offer for their fifth season. When the player consents to such a trade, his Larry Bird/Early Bird rights are not traded with him, and instead becomes a Non-Bird free agent. The player's consent is also required for any subsequent trades that season. Any trade involving Capela won't be easy, unless the team he is going to be traded to guarantees him an extension he wants.
Ok Clint enjoy your last year in Rocket red and welcome Deandre Jordan the following year red nation!
If true he likely takes the QO or gets S&T. Or at least I hope so. That contract offered is already way more in his favor then it is ours. Anything more would be a mistake, we can’t afford another fresh immovable contract.
Huge bummer, I really like Clint, but as a fan it's gotta be about team first. The fact that Clint wasn't happy to take a pretty fair offer is a big disappointment, and I guess we'll get to see his true value on another team soon.
