I don't, but Melo doesn't have the heart of a champion.

Someone that can make basic switches.

The Rockets are not close to done.

They will sign free agents and very likely deal Anderson and possibly Gordon.

    Which is silly.

If he picks Miami which has zero shot to win anything because they'll let him "start" and he can live in Miami, that says all you need to know about his priorities.

Who the hell would start though? Ryan Anderson and Tucker?? Tucker at 4, move Harden to 3 and start EGO at the 2?

Because of shot distribution and ball handling opportunities. As a starter Melo will only be a spot up shooter. As a bench player he can be the secondary option on every possession. If he wants to hold the ball and work on his 50 jab steps being off the bench is better for him.

The hope is for the starting lineup to be CP3/Harden/Ennis/Tucker/Capela

I would be extremely disappointed if they let Mbah a Moute go over the small gap between the non-Bird and MLE if they didn't have a good idea as to what the MLE would be used for.

I mean... we're talking about them signing free agents. If it's Melo and Ennis, then it's Melo and Ennis. I can kid of see the play with Ennis as a mid 20's mpg starter, but I also see the downside there.

If they can trade Ryan and get anything meaningful back, it would be insane. Not likely. He's not an expiring until next offseason, and even then its a big expiring for someone to add to their cap, so still not likely to get anything "real" back.

EG has value. But that's because he's valuable. What are you getting back in an EG trade?

It runs counter to what the Rockets mouthpieces have said though which is how much they want him and how confident they are they can sign him.

Feigen is saying Melo might prefer Miami, not that we'd pass on Melo. Mitch is saying we might pass. Big difference.

I'd sign him and try him in the starting lineup. Let him guard the weakest of the opponent's 3-5 positions and roll with it. If he sucks, then you pitch a bench role to him and see how it goes. I just think we need to take a chance with some obvious ground to make up this offseason.

I think J Feig is BS'ing here, like he has been for the last couple weeks.

Why would Riley want Melo? Just to have a name to sell tickets? The Rockets keep losing or losing out on players to non-contending teams. You'd think Miami, LAC, and Phoenix would keep it young and develop talent, but they're signing older role players.

Perhaps this is due to Melo not liking the pitch when it comes to coming off the bench.

So they think Ennis should be starting over Melo? I hope the Rockets are prepared the backlash after losing Ariza, Luc & passing on Melo for a relatively unknown scrub in Ennis

He just said they were wondering on the fit. Which completely jives with the want him to come off the bench comments.... which in turn are aligned with the he might chose Miami to start there comments.
