It's called looking through Rockets tinted off season glasses. If we add him to the roster, he is going to magically become awesome. 34 years of age is usually when it clicks for most NBA players, especially if Rockets is their destination. He has never had a coach that has coached him defense. etc etc etc.. Talk about delusional lol.... If you want someone to finally change as a player, Melo should be the last pick. One of the most selfish players of his generation. We should be upset that OKC finally came to its senses and is getting rid of him. Now we should hope that Lakers lose their mind and pick him up.
What is this nonsense? Lol. Well since thats definitely a 'dream' scenario. I'll list my 'dream' scenario Retain Luc Buyout Anderson Melo buyout sign min Lebron buyout sign min Wade min Bosh min Paul/MCW Harden/Green/Wade Lebron/Luc Carmelo/Tucker Capela/Bosh/Nene Full on banana boat champs TO be real. If we did sign & trade Lebron earlier as rumored. We could very well had a Paul/Harden/Lebron/Melo/Capela starting 5. OKC would have still likely bought Melo out.
People will flame me for this, but to take your analysis one step further, and all salaries aside, from a basketball standpoint, the Rockets would be better off with a fired-up, healthy Anderson than modern-day old Carmelo who thinks he's still an elite talent.
Clint Capela+Eric Gordon+2 first round pick trade to spurs=Kawhi Lenoard Ryan Anderson+first round pick expiring contract trade to bucks=Jabri Parker Carmelo Anthony sign Vet Minimum Brook Lopez part of MLE Rest of MLE on Michael Beasley, MBah moute.
This is correct. Ryan Anderson for as bad as he is isnt going to cause chemistry problems. He just sucks. Melo can and will cause chemistry problem and locker room issues. He has a career history of doing this. Horrendous defense + chemistry problem is not even worth it for free to me, forget the minimum.
Anderson does mess the chemistry up. When you pass up the only open shot in 24 seconds like he was last year, it destroys flow and trust
