No doubt about it, although I would hate to see him go.

You're right. The chances of acquiring Tyreke with the MLE is low.

same here. but the only reason he should be on the way out is if hou is getting an elite player as a result. Other than that, he should still be here

Is Morey OBSESSED with trading Gordon?

Yes, I'm in agreement with this. I do worry how is going to react if he thinks he is not being utilized properly. My guess is he will remain professional, while Morey includes him in a trade. Tyreke is the only player who can replace EG to some extent with the MLE. Tyreke is a better passer, EG is streaky with his jumper, but I trust his outside shot
    and defense more than Tyreke's.

We better be damn sure we're getting a player better than Gordon's caliber if we're gonna trade him away. We aren't rebuilding like we were in 2012, this is win now time.

Hopefully, this means Redick, Tyreke or Avery Bradley are interested in MLE level money to replace him if something goes down.

The Rockets proved to be a clearly better team than the Warriors with a healthy Paul. An unstoppable backcourt with a defensive specialist

If the Rockets had cap room of 20 M plus for Paul George as a UFA , I wouldn't even think about trading Eric Gordon for another player at a different position. i.e. PF( even though we need one).
I also would like to see Ariza as a backup SF to Lebron in the rare event of him joining Houston.

If he was going to trade EG, it would have been for a bigger deal.

DM is not just going to trade EG just to trade him for some boo boo pick.

EG means alot for the Rockets. He is a big part of what we do. If he is gone, that means we have a bigger fish coming..

Wish we can keep him, but Ryan Anderson is garbage and is going to make us spend us more than we want to.

I don't think this is about Lebron James. This is about trading Ryno and avoiding the massive taxpayer penalty. They're going to do what it takes to get out from under Anderson's contract. But, you have to pay a team to take on his $40 million. You don't entice a team to take up that salary burden by throwing another $27 million on top, even if the player is worth the contract. And you can't scale down your payroll by bringing back $30 million in other players for Ryno/Ego. You need to offer a companion piece that is worth more than their salary, which is a player on a rookie scale contract. Ryno/1st rounder for some junk that adds up to ~ $15 million, some of which can be waived. And we'll have a big trade exception from Gordon that we can let expire.

I don't get how a player on the second best team with a perfect role would welcome a trade to a different team

I'm a little surprised that people (like @Nook ) have heard EG would welcome a trade.

No doubting it, just a little sad about it. I mean, I guess he wants to be a starter then? I would think winning and playing with great passers would be a blast.

During the playoffs he said something about not being used right or need a different style. After game 1 against GSW I believe. Not so much a surprise, little disappointing I guess. I'm sure he liked the run'n gun Rockets. But when they found that ISO was more efficient, not so much.

Yea, he sounded like he wanted out after game 1 because he felt like the Rockets weren't using him right. He probably asked for a trade behind closed doors

“I definitely would like to get the ball more for me to be aggressive and get good looks,” said Gordon, according to Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated. “Offensively with everybody, we really don’t get real good looks.”

I love EG and he had some big moments against GS, but if we can add a LeBron, George, Butler, etc. than he'll be a key part of the moves that get us there. He's super solid, but was inconsistent last year. A better ball handler behind Harden and CP3 is needed whether he stays or goes.

If he wants to go, then we need to get fair value that leads us to a better player. DM's got the stick and I'm behind him 150%.
