Nothing earth-shattering here... all makes good sense. But this was Yahoo!'s Chris Mannix on Jim Rome today.

    • Says "chance to win" is what he expects to be the most important to LeBron (and always has been).
    • Houston makes "obvious sense" for LeBron.
    • Chris Paul, James Harden will be "aggressively" going after LeBron.
    • If it's just a matter of salary cap maneuvering, the Rockets will get it done.

The only earth shattering thing there is that all world ******* Jim Rome still has a show. I find that shocking.

Only team I’m realistically worried about is Boston. They check all the boxes like we do but they have much more attractive and moveable assets. LeBron will also stay in the East and continue his dominant reign of going to the NBA Finals every single year until he retires. If he plays til his late 30s-40 which I think he wants to to break Kareem’s scoring record, Boston has more longevity than Houston. And I don’t believe LeBron will want to move to yet another team in the twilight of his career. This is probably his last move. Our window with LeBron is pretty much 3 years whereas Boston is until he decides to retire.

Too much history with them, and Kyrie. I'm not worried at all about them.

What if they trade Kyrie back to Cleveland? Ainge did it with IT just last year so it’s not unprecedented for him.

Also, Kyrie was the one who wanted to get out of LeBron’s shadow not the other way around. It’d be an easy sell for Ainge to do with the team particularly Kyrie. And if Kyrie still doesn’t buy in, he’ll get shipped off.

It's pretty amazing that we're even talking about the possibility of LeBron coming here without sounding batsh!t crazy.

When Morey signed Asik and Lin to those odd contracts, the idea of just a few years down the road having James Harden, Chris Paul, and the best player on the planet in Rockets unis would have been unthinkable.

The only issue is youth. If Bron plans on playing until 40 he needs a team that is younger.

Everyone presents like Jim Rome these days with hot takes etc.. but in my opinion he's the only one it works well for. He makes snarky kind of likeable because of his weaselness. Maybe that's just me though. To me he's likeably hateable.

Yes but without Kyrie that team won't have enough to win. Plus, if he were to trade Kyrie back, who would lebron want to come with him to Boston? My guess is nobody.

Doesn't mean we can't continue to tweak the roster, while LBJ, CP3 and Harden are here. We can stay young and build around those 3.

He also thinks the Celtics are scared of losing Kyrie and see the Knicks as the biggest threat to get him

True that our window is that long with our current roster, but if anyone can flip a roster it’s Morey

Rome pretty much invented the hot take.

And he's still the only sportscaster I've ever seen nearly get his ass kicked by a pro athlete, so that's worth quite a bit.
