Line went up to 8.5 now started at 7.5, coming from a gambler this is not a good sign.

Fortunately, the line doesn't always predict outcomes. They predict how many off knowledge fans are betting towards GSW and hoping Curry's hot shooting continues.

Houston hasn't lost back to back games since December.

Smart money is on Houston here. This feels reactionary from Game 3(the betting line).

 

I just wanted to check that you were aware that the Chandler you remember from Houston no longer exists. Salary aside, Chandler in his current state would be parked on the bench next to Ryno.

Even a not-great but functional Anderson could be a difference maker, but it really does seem like he's (A) quitting on the team, (B) suffering some sort of mental breakdown, or (C) a little of column A and a little of column B. Would love to be proven wrong, and am very curious to see how MDA plays his hand.

I think the opposite actually. When the line drastically increases that means money is pouring in for Worriors to cover. That means Vegas will lose alot of money if the worriers win big. Vegas will obviously want the Rockets to lose by less than 8.5 or win to win alot of money. Going against the grain is often times a good thing in gambling.

 

Wasn't it the same before Game 1 too?

The cpu formulas that gambling sites use are predicated upon certain statistical analysis. Net rating and margin of victory and other types of stats are prominate to determining future results.

A 41 point margin of victory will wildly skew a lot of the data being received and computed. They have measures for this but none the less last game was an anomaly that misrepresents the actual matchup.

The algorlithms likely would have favored gsw at home by 4-6 but the smart money is likely on the rockets to cover.

You also have to factor in decency bias. A lot of common gamblers see Curry going off as an indication “he is back”. They won by 13 with him sucking and 41 when he played well.

Rookie mistake really because curry looked very bad in the first half, it wasn’t until the 3rd when we let him build his confidence because we were being lazy on defense.

Also, doubting Iguodala and his impact is at play.

Alas, I am extremely biased myself towards the rockets and always the optimist, but I take rockets +9 all day.

 

Agreed on the betting end. Vegas needs to cover. BTW for those who gamble (MLB), many projections I use have an implied TT way over for the Orioles game. It's about a run more than Vegas. Not saying easy money but... but BET the over for the Orioles game today.
