I dont think it's a lock. He's a new coach and international. I doubt he gets that much say and pull with the organization to say Doncic is the one.
phx has been scouting ayton for months and they've been looking for a big for years. ayton's potential and talent would be incredibly difficult to pass up when hes the type of big teams need in this era
I bet my house that the suns have been scouting Doncic and other projected top 5 picks for months as well. From the minute they hired Igor Kokorov it showed to me who they had decided to draft, the question was if he would still be available by the time they draft. Now he will.
Yeah the Suns aren’t going to pay Capela $100 million when Ayton who is basically Capela with a star potential there for the taking The only people that think Donic will go number 1 are Euro posters
In the Western Conference a Center is a must, Booker and Ayton are a good Duo to start a Franchise building blocks
What would DM do if he were the GM of the Suns? I hate to say it, but I think he would take Doncic and then try to get a quality center in free agency. Centers don't have much value above replacement player right now - unless they are truly elite. My bet is that the suns take Doncic but don't offer Capela the max and end up bonding with Nerlens or some other bargain center so that they can use their cap space on trying to real in a quality veteran on a short contract (Like What the Sixers did with Redick this year)
Isn't Ayton projected to be like Joel Embiid? Has great range, can play great defense, built like a tank, etc.
Wow, that's actually a great outcome for the Rockets...Phoenix may pick Ayton at this point and Bamba should be easily there for the Mavs at the 5th pick...the Hawks are going in full rebuild, really don't see them have any interest in paying Clint, SacTown should still play Cauley-Stein, Giles will be back too...
As they should. Doncic Booker Jackson Capela That is an excellent young core. Let it bake for 3 or 4 years, add some pieces, and they could be coming around just as Warriors and Rockets are phasing out.
