Here is my simple plan to beat the Warriors: 1. On offense, attack Stephen Curry hard whenever he is on the court. Run as many PnR as needed to get Curry switched to the ball handler. Test Curry's ankles and knees. Curry's defense is Warriors' weakest link. He also happens to be the engine that makes Warriors offense go. If Curry is taken out of the equation due to foul trouble or spending too much energy on defense, Warriors become ordinary. If they double to hide Curry, Rockets can get a Capela lob or open three. Against the Warriors weak bench, Chris Paul should feast easily. 2. On defense, guard KD/Curry/Thompson tightly. Dare Green/Iguodala to shoot jumpers to beat us. We have an array of long athletic elite defenders in Ariza/Tucker/Luc to throw at KD/Thompson. Paul can guard Curry when he is not the primary ball handler. Switch everything. Even Capela can guard the perimeter. Warriors pass a lot and are often careless with the ball. This is where Rockets can feast on Warriors turnovers. On the other hand, Rockets don't turn over the ball that much as they pass much less, so it will hard for Warriors to get easy fast break points. The key: Attack Curry on defense! Kyrie drains 3 over Curry Harden drains 3 over Curry
My simple plan is to score more points than they do. My second simple plan is to hold them to less points than we score.
Not sure why you think this. Just cuz his Clippers teams got blown out doesn’t mean he didn’t play well. Head to Head Paul averages 22 pts and Curry 20.
