Your title thread is not written as “one seed”

94/95 Rockets played as the 6th seed. Against:
    Utah (60-22)
Suns (59-23) (division leader gets top seedings)
    Spurs (62-20)
    Magic (57-25)

Toughest road to the title. All with no home court advantage.

That’s going uphill against an 80 mph cross wind....in a hailstorm.

The Rockets will have to beat the greatest team of all time to make the finals, so yes you could say it might be the most challenging road.

If Steph Curry is healthy and playing of course.

if we had an easier team like the nuggets or pelicans (wolves without butler) that guarantees a sweep or 5 game series with mutliple blowouts. less chance of injuries and more rest for the thundur

We might have to go through about 10 'all-star' level players just to get to the finals, true point.

Butler, Wiggins, Towns, George, Anthony, Westbrook, Curry, Durant, Green, Thompson. Whew.

Good thing we have the MVP.

Meanwhile Golden State is going to face ... Lillard? Davis?

    I like it.

We'll get credit for beating a "great team" in OKC, even though they aren't all that great. I've never seen a healthy 48 win team that everybody thinks is elite. Likewise the Wolves are probably the actual 3rd best team, but we are a terrible matchup for them.

    1. There's no such thing as a guaranteed sweep.

    2. The TWolves haven't won a game against us all year, in 5 attempts. Last night was the closest they've come -- and it's because most of our team shot poorly, not due to some great defense on their part.

    3. Why are you so damned determined to prove that we're on some kind of historically difficult road to a title and there's almost no hope we can possibly survive this Murderer's Row of dreaded powerhouse teams? That's kind of weird and pathetic.

many here were upset yesterday that the game was close, this is not the same as any other year. The west this year was crazy and the current Timberwolves are truly third best in the west. who cares about regular season. By that logic, Ryan Anderson will have amazing playoff games and the thunder will beat us in round two.

    Warriors are lucky?

Beat Spurs without Kawhi, the top 4 player in the world

Beat Pelicans without Cousins, the top 8 players in the world

Except they're not. This is just some magic trick you keep performing, expecting us all to believe it's real.

The "current" Twolves are the #8 seed, because they simply weren't good enough to get a higher seed. Butler or no Butler, these guys clearly aren't as good as Houston, GS, OKC, New Orleans, Portland and Utah. They BARELY beat the Nuggets to get into the playoffs in a must-win game.

That's because "many here" have unrealistic expectations of us winning every game in this first round by 20 points or more, so today they're doing this:

The fact is that only two of our guys played anywhere near their capabilities and WE STILL WON.

The final score doesn't matter AT ALL. What matters is that we're up 1-0.

Now in order to lose this round, we have to lose 4 of 6 games against a team that has YET to prove they can beat us this year.

I am not even sure the Rockets have an especially tough road, honestly it seems pretty average.

There is no guarantee that the Wolves would have been the three seed. The Wolves are a young team that shoots the ball poorly and is limited offensively. That seems about right for a round one match up. If the Rockets cannot beat the Wolves, they have problems.

As for the second round, there is no guarantee that the Thunder get past the Jazz. Also, the Thunder don't have 3 stars. They have two stars and a pretty good center. That Thunder team is poor defensively and are very thin in their rotation. They are starting Brewer.

Yes, the Warriors will be tough but that is just how it goes.

As for the Finals, unless the Sixers or Raptors go nuclear, most likely the Rockets are not facing a tough match up in the Finals.

This is the easiest potential path to the Finals that I can remember (for us, anyway).

If all the stars are fully healthy and at full strength in the playoffs

    My playoffs rankings:

    1. Warriors
    2. Spurs (won 47 games, Kawhi is non-factor for entire season)
    3. Pelicans (won 48 games, starters missing 129 games)
    4. Rockets
    5. Thunder

Any of them would beat the best team in the east.

    6. Blazers (depth)
    7. Jazz (youth is underrated)
    8. Wolves (terrible offense and zero defense)'

Clippers declared that they are very proud of the achievement this year.

If you compare them with Spurs and Pelicans, they are huge underachieve. They have much bigger injury than Clippers.

    I agree with Giannis.

It's not about being fair or not, it's just commenting on the situation at hand.

Going into this season, three teams in the West geared up to beat the Warriors; Rockets, Thunder and Wolves. It's a stroke of luck for the Warriors that they don't play ANY of them until the WCF.

That said, the Wolves shouldn't be a huge challenge for us because of the Math Problem.

Wolves can't shoot but have one of the most efficient offenses in the league.

OKC have 3 players in the starting lineup that have the potential to go off and then they have Adams at center. OKC has a top 10 defense.

I am sorry, I meant don't shoot the three ball well.

I haven't checked in several weeks, but last I checked the Thunder were not a good defensive team without AR.

The Thunder have a low floor (Crazy Russell, inefficient Melo, I WANT TO BE LOVED! Paul George, etc.) but a HIGH ceiling.

I would rather have the team win and be more focused if they make it to the WCF. Yeah Golden State facing the Spurs and then the Pels/Blazers winner is "easier" on paper to the WCF than the Rockets playing the Wolves and then Jazz/Thunder but the Rockets didnt win 65 games this year just by luck - they have been significantly better than every team out there with the exception of the Warriors. Over the course of a 7 games series they should win out 4 of those games. Unless we get hit by injuries to multiple key people like what happened back in december when the team lost 5 in a row, I cant see anyone but GS beating this team when healthy in a 7 game series.
