I hear they faked the whole Russian interference, Dossier, Wikileaks, and even Trump beating all the other Republicans as a mass conspiracy to create a leftist Blue Wave that would result in a neo-socialist state.

 

Cohen has already been proven to be untruthful. And his "proof" is his passport, but Czechoslovakia does not require a passport stamp when entering from certain countries. He could have entered via car or train. So until we learn Mueller's proof Cohen's story is like him, suspect.

Go ahead and throw McCabe into a dungeon for his lack of candor. I don't really care what color his hat is. If McCabe is a perjurer and a leaker, does that mean Trump isn't dirty? Of course not. So they can paint him however, prosecute if they have any evidence, and it doesn't change anything for me.

I think the Deep State is definitely real. I think you have a large population of career public servants that have an ethos, and have bought into an organizational culture of pursuing certain values of governance and doing the things the right regulatory way. So when a political cadre comes in to shake things up, to pursue values that are not traditional institutional values, and to use approaches that are not the correct institutional approaches, they resist using the tools of the agency to do so. That's why you have the DOJ investigating their own president, why all these cabinet members have scandals involving travel expenses or inappropriate gifts, why you have leaks all over the place. After all those years of enamor with voting for outsiders and mavericks, we really did elect an outsider. And the body is trying to reject the transplant. The blood types don't match,

I suppose the Trumper thinks that's a bad thing. We elected Trump to do this yadda yadda. I'm not a fan of revolutionary change though, so I kinda like the fact that reversing government is like turning a battleship. Maybe, if it really has the people's mandate, we can be MAGA 20 years from now. Of course, I don't think the mandate is really there.

That's not a deep state. Deep state is an actual structure that is not visible and is running the government "under the hood". Investigating own President is a norm when suspected criminal acts has occurred. In Trump case, Trump himself caused the investigation. It's pretty clear cut what happen there. Leaks from people inside doesn't mean there is a deep state. At one end, it's maybe small pocket of resistance. At the other end, it's whistle blowers.

Deep state is a conspiracy theory. Until there are concrete evidences that it exists, it remains one.

I am kind of hoping when they do the big block-buster Trump movie, they go with a Deadpool-like approach.

 

This is a GREAT point. None of the people going on tv are saying "Cohen can't flip because Trump did nothing wrong and Cohen did nothing wrong."

Instead they are hyping up his loyalty, sort of willing him be strong in the face of the prosecutors. Even Trump supports know deep down that the guy is a dirty scumbag.

it was on this basis, "he has never been to Prague", that Cohen filed a libel suit, in 2017, against Buzzfeed (who published the Steele dossier) and Fusion GPS (who funded the Steele dossier, which reported that Cohen had traveled to Prague to meet some Russians).

Fast forward to early April 2018, McClatchy broke the news that Mueller has evidence that Cohen had met some Russians in Prague.

one can infer that the Steele dossier hot it right, at least the part about Cohen meeting Russians in Prague.

Dropping the suits could help Cohen avoid being questioned by lawyers from Fusion GPS or having to turn over evidence related to the case — both steps that could undercut his defense in the criminal probe by the Southern Distict of Federal Court in NY

 

I really think most of his supporters do not see him as a dirty scumbag in the way the rest of us do.

I think part of what his fans like is that he "takes no prisoners!" and "doesn't play by the stupid rules!" and that's why he is "so awesome." So, of course, since he's never played by other people's rules then, yeah, if we're going to get all technical and stuff, their hero is going to have a few glitches come up. Big deal, the supporters would say. Shouldn't be looking for this trivial stuff on so great a man, blah blah.
