The Rockets have the 3rd seed Wolves who only dropped to 8th because they lost their best player for 23 games. Now he is back. The West being so competitive this year is the reason they dropped from 5th to 8th at the end of the season. The Nuggets are a real 8th seed team you expect to face in the first round. The biggest reward for finishing first in the standings was an automatic (gentlemen’s) sweep in the first round and getting to rest your players for the dog fights in the next possible 3 matches.

Then you have 3 stars to deal with in the second round of the playoffs where star power matters most. Thanks OKC.

And finally the second best team in the NBA, the Warriors, who are expected to have Curry back fresh a bit before the WCF.

One could argue the Rockets have to knock out the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th best teams in the west to make it to the finals. Win or lose, it will be entertaining.

oh well, it is what it is

a tougher road will force them to be locked in at all times

no one will put some dumbass asterisk on this championship if we get it

Harden, CP3, D’antoni, but especially Harden will change their playoff narratives if they get it done this year...Harden is on a mission

95 Rockets had a harder road.

Beat the number 1,2 and 3rd seed.

LOL AS A ONE SEED please. Those teams didn’t win 65 games. The entire point of the regular season is to make the playoffs and for the teams that do to get the best position and advantage available by winning the most games.

If you're the best team in the NBA which Rockets showed they are, then you should not be afraid of any path. Just beat them all.

Twolves were on pace for a 52-55 win season before Butler got hurt so yea, we really playing a 3rd seed when healthy.

Boo hoo. The talent significantly drops off after GSW.

The playoffs should be competitive. Too many of you want an EC playoffs lineup where half the teams have no business in the playoffs.

It's not that tough of a road. The T'Wolves are a favorable matchup for the Rockets. We're better than the Thunder or the Jazz(especially if we get Luc back). Granted, the Warriors will be tough. But if we get past them, the Finals will be a cakewalk.

What matchups did people think would be dramatically easier? The Spurs? Maybe, but that team without Kawhi and Parker beat us handily last season. The Jazz? I sure as hell didn't want them in Round 1 because of their ability to defend. The Pelicans? I actually preferred them over Minnesota, but look at what they did in Portland on Saturday.

I don't know why people keep complaining about our bracket. Especially after only one game in the playoffs.

Yeah, the games would be boring, but it guarantees less games, an easier trip to the finals, and less chance of your team getting injured. if the goal is winning, then east. If it is winning in style, west.

    Yes, I have an example.

The 2018 Minnesota Timberwolves have a much tougher road. So do the Jazz and Thunder.

    No excuses.

If you want to consider yourself the best, you will very likely have to beat the 2nd best at some point, and possibly the 3rd or 4th best as well.

Doesn't matter who we face. Line 'em up, knock 'em down, call "Next!"

yeah but lets just hope the rockets can beat the wolves in 4-5 because a 1-3 series is typically 6 games. more (playoff intensity) games is more fatigue which leads to injury. why do you think the finals teams are always injured.

the less games the rockets play where teams are fighting for their lives the better.

You guys don’t realize it, but we are one guard injury away from losing all of our depth at the 1-2.

call it what you want, but if we beat the wolves and thunder in 5-6 games each without sustaining any injuries then we will have the series we have all been waiting for since the beginning of the season.
