OK, guys... The rivalry is nice; I love how much it's blossomed. But we need to collectively move on. We are King Kong; the Rangers are a mosquito. It's fun to kick a team when it's down (I guess?) - but we don't need to wallow in their dirty awfulness.

Rule #76: No excuses; play like a champion.

    Everything you said is true.

But I'm still getting a very, very petty satisfaction from this truth, so I'm gonna keep wallowing.

Not gonna argue with you. The question was to how we feel. That's how I feel.

Yes... its well known that you long for the rivalries that permeated the NL west days of the early 80's. Most of us all grew up at the same time and had a connection to those same teams.

Just figured that you'd see some light at the end of the tunnel with the move to the AL... that 56 year WS drought ending and what not.

Ouch. I shall keep my NL West longing to myself. When future similar questions arise, I will leave space for the more popular points of view.

I'm just saying that its ok to embrace the present... especially with this team.

This is the greatest era of Astros baseball ever... and that's not simply a "popular" point of view.

People gonna hate what they wanna hate. Welcome to Sports 101. What's wrong with that? Who cares if it's reciprocal?

Nobody asked you to do the same, and nobody's going to hate 'em for us.

I watched that guy get ignored on gameplan, cry on the sidelines about getting ignored, and drop another pass when they finally do give him the ball on national TV. Then add on top of that that it's the Dallas Cowboys. Hilarious stuff.

Indeed... just can't imagine anybody would "hate" the present (which @msn does not).

The more I think about it.....

Angels = Cardinals (this team could be good and fun to play against for several years)
Rangers = Cubs (bring the hate, I don't care how "lovable" some Texans think they are)
Mariners = Brewers (harmless, yet will occasionally piss you off)
    Oakland = Pirates (Who?)
Reds = (Oh, ok, them too)

that's fair, and consider it embraced: this is indeed the greatest era of Astros baseball ever (let's be honest; it's good to finally set the bar higher than "yay: playoffs!!"). I just embrace this current, all-time great incarnation of the Astros without hating the Rangers (not worth my emotional effort) or embracing the AL or the DH.
