Will any of these two occur in our lifetime?

I say that there's a chance a 16 seed can eliminate a 1 seed in college basketball but only a small chance. Also, it is a one-game single-elimination as opposed to a best-of-7 series where it's very tough to win 4 games in a row after losing the first 3 games.

0-3 in NBA playoffs before 16 over a 1 in NCAA. Since the tourney is over and the Rockets are about to pull out. PAUSE.

This series has as good a chance as any to complete the comeback.

The warriors are lucky they aren't in a 3-1 defecit or tied at 2.

It's happened once in the women's tournament (Harvard > Stanford 1998).

I just can't imagine there will ever be enough talent on a 16th seeded team to beat a #1 team in mens college bball.

I think 0-3 is ridiculously hard to come back from, but a little shaken confidence and you never know.

Doubt either will happen anytime soon... unless the Rockets can do it.

I'm really surprised that nobody has ever come back from 0-3. You'd think it would have happened a few times. Especially if the first 3 games were really competitive.

There's generally a too big talent gap between 16 and 1, but it does seem like they have been getting closer in recent years.

3-0 in the NBA seems doable with some unfortunate circumstances. If Lebron were to sprain an ankle tonight and be out for a week, Atlanta could easily come back and win the next 4, for example. The talent gaps in the NBA just aren't that great if you take a top player out of the equation.

Turing the table from 0-3 in the NBA is possible, but those come back boys ain't gon be us this year:rolleyes: Look we had a quarter of the ages and still just barely escaped with a win. That GS team is too good to lose another 3 games in row to us.

To be fair, it's hard to sustain that level of shooting for an entire game. I expected the Rockets to cool off.

And with Golden State being very good on offense even without Curry...

I remember not long ago when Gonzaga was a #1 seed, they almost lost to a #16 seed. If the #1 seed is a mid-major conference team, then they're more likely to be upset by a #16 seed.

    Here's a video of the Princeton-Georgetown game in 1989.

Also, here's a 30 For 30 story about the game.

    bump

So far, 0 for 3 for #16 seeds with Holy Cross coming up tonight. This will not be the year.

I guess it's the NBA's turn, with the playoffs next month, for any team to comeback from a 0-3 series deficit and win 4 consecutive games.

My guess would have been a comeback from an 0-3 NBA series.

I expected (and still believe) an injury will be the primary reason it happens.
