http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/...g-lineup-bringing-jr-smith-bench-phoenix-suns "I just felt like it," Lue said when asked about the timing of his decision to bench Smith." "Lue said that he and Smith had a positive talk about the lineup change. "It was good," Lue said." "We didn't talk," Smith told ESPN. "He sent me a text [Monday], and I told him, 'No problem.' I didn't know that it was a 'talk.'" Cavs sounding more and more like a disfunctional organization...
After Earl Watson was fired, Jeff Hornacek became the worst coach in the NBA IMO. If the Nuggets miss the playoffs, Mike Malone should at least get consideration. Jay Triano isn't exactly setting the world on fire either.
Cavs essentially made the same mistake the Rockets did in hiring McHale. They wanted a yes man for Lebron to keep on a leash, and the only type of people who are willing to do that aren't smart enough nor confident enough in their own strategies to actually be consistently successful long-tern.
McHale was hired because the Rockets were on the road to tanking and he was thought of as being someone who works well with young players.
Lue was a pretty crappy player, too. Not sure why so many b and c level role players go on to be considered great coaching candidates. Kerr and doc rivers were both pretty crappy coaches who inherited great teams. Weird I guess.
lue has always been a garbage coach. hes just been lucky to have lebron who is the real coach on his team
I think coaching in the NBA is overrated. Its mostly about talent. However not benching TT and JR was pretty dumb.
Maybe I've missed other news and articles on this but I've been wondering when (outside of cleveland fans and media) that T-Lue would start receiving flack and legit blame for the Cavs play this season. He seems to have avoided it for much of the season but goodness, he is as much to blame as anyone else. No way he returns next season if LBJ leaves I imagine. If not for LBJ and that championship "they" brought to the Land, I figure Lue would be gone by now.
18 consecutive losses not to mention a 500 record with Harden. JB gets my my vote for worst coach with Lou a close 2nd.
Worst coach? Mike DanToni is in my list for playoffs. He has not explained why Rockets lost Game 6 at home to Spurs without Kawhi? Not a head coach, Mike Brown is even better than him. Brown won 11th consecutive playoffs games last year. How about DanToni?
