We are the only team above .500 shooting that poorly. GSW is 4-4.

And we haven't had many of them, either. Rockets also rank 4th fewest games below 30%.

Here is list of game below 30% shooting from 3.

Kind of surprising to see SAS that far down there.

? You should check that again. Unless you mean they don't shoot that many, relatively.

They led the league in 3p% last year at 39%. 2nd two years ago. And their last title they shot a league best 39%. Pops is all about shooting few, but always only when wide open.

I once told you that I'd be impressed with the Rockets if they could have a winning record when they shoot below 33%. Well they have a winning record below 30% - so colored me impressed.

There's no doubt that their record reflects that they are indeed, the best team in the league. GS may be the champions, but the Rockets are the best team in the league.

Not quite related but how many games the Rockets shot 10+ threes? They just snapped the record against the Jazz

The streak ended at 55. Previous streak was 27 by the Rockets last year.

Feigen wrote a big paragraph on it. I prefer this 6-4 record that shows we win, yet have few such games. The 55 is cool, but largely tied to the volume number of FGA.

Thanks, I think that 55 games with 10+ threes is incredible. Its double than the previous record and shows how much different this team is from any other team in history.
the 6-4 record is very good because it says we can win even when shots arent falling but can also be attribute to the sheer number of shots taken beyond the arc.
All and all the fact that this team can win through defense is what makes her a contender, the fact that we're winning with so many 3's attempted and made is what makes this team historically special.

True, but one is tied to the other. We were historically special last year too (set the record then too), wrt to shooting and making high volumes of threes. But we couldn't win games when we shot poorly last year, we were 4-12 in that 30% measure.

What's allowing us to win these poor shooting games when no other team in the league is above .500, is because we have other ways to win finally vs last year, not because we keep launching.

So, I can see why you say the streak makes us historically significant, but we would be historically significant as what NOT to do, unless we also had ways to Win when shooting poorly.

Interesting stat. I’d like to see what our offensive and defensive ratings are in those wins. Are we making up for it by turning up the defense, or do we make up for it by getting more FTs or inside looks?

That would be interesting to explore. Maybe also compare to our 16 games last year at 4-12.

Best record when shooting poorly, undefeated while playing with the slowest pace in the league and historically good at isolation scoring.

Yet people will still say the Rockets aren't built for the playoffs -- but the Thunder are.

One thing worth noting, in a poor shooting performance, the Rockets defense also clamps down on the opponent just like against the Jazz the other night.

The lowered scoring total puts a premium on each possession and the Rockets almost always have the better playmakers.

Reasons for winning when 3's aren't falling:
    - CP3 midrange, when our O stalls, he goes in and then curls around to the FT line or elbow for a fallback J
    - Ego aggression, his shot has sucked this year but he makes up for it by taking the ball hard to the rack
    - Harden and Ryno midrange, both have been shooting their midrange more when D takes away rim and 3

Rockets are now 8-4 shooting <30% on threes.

I wonder if this (67%) is the best winning % in league history for <30% shooting nights.
