Should have honored him during a Toronto game.

Yeah, but the way he quit on the team and decided on his own to get microfracture for a small spot that every other doctor said could be rehabbed, is a sore spot with a lot of us.

He was great for a while for sure....but ended badly here.

The nuance of opinion in this thread is a great example of just how polarizing Mac was, so whether you love him or were put off by his nonchalance, he left an impression

True. People wouldn't still be working on defaming him 8-9 years later if he wasn't that important as a player.

Tmac was a complete beast. His last year here was definitely one to forget. But overrall the ONLY thing disappointing about his tenure here was injuries. His play on the court was on another level. The same ppl who hate Tmac would take DMo back in a heartbeat. Tmac AND Yao were stopped by injuries but I'm glad they were both Rockets

When healthy, the team was clearly Tmac's. Yao was great. But let's not revise history here. Tmac made plays single handedly for us and pretty much ran the offense. Yao was the 2nd option, but a fantastic 2nd option to have

You should go check out the 06 season, before the injury of Emperor Yao. He was dominating the low block and the offense ran through him in the post. He was well on his way to MVP consideration and probably the favorite if not for injuries.

    F*CK a shemac!

Also, please dont quote a post of mine from almost a year ago to talk about a scrub. Id rather discuss Rockets Legends.

Well deserved, T-Mac had his best and one of the most underrated peak season of all time there. He should have won MVP that year imo, had a higher WS/48 than Tim Duncan and would have had higher WS total if McGrady didn't miss 12 games. Most impressively, he did it at TWENTY-THREE. The only players to lead the NBA in WS/48 at 23 or younger are Kareem, Wilt, and T-Mac. Injuries, unlucky trades, and bad roster construction really ruined T-Mac's career. Hindsight is 20/20, but he should have stayed in Toronto, and he was incredibly unlucky in Orlando, as they landed Dwight Howard in the offseason when he left. His years in Houston were a disappointment, but not because of him IMO. Those '05 and '06 teams were so trash outside of T-Mac and Yao that the general manager was fired. By the time Morey built a good supporting cast around them, both had already succumbed to multiple injuries.

I firmly believe that the '09 team would at least make the finals had T-Mac AND Yao not gone down with season ending injuries.

He wanted out of Orlando before Dwight arrived.
Demanding a trade is not luck.
