I really want to keep Troy Williams, athletic 6'7 wing 24 year old, high motor, he can develop with us. R.J Hunter I don't understand why he is kept, not too athletic, poor shooter by numbers. Chinanu had sinus surgery, Young guy I think 21 now. Markel Brown I like on defense, he can shoot.
As stated many, many times. RJ and Markel are on 2-way contracts and in no way count towards the official roster. Also, I think we should cut Troy as he has no real shot at cracking the rotation in the next couple years. Wings are far easier to replace than big bodies.
dude can go, he will never get PT over the plethora of wings that we have anyways he’s just collecting dust on the bench
Basketball IQ is the reason. Plus skillset - Hunter can handle, pass, hustle on both ends and shoot 3ball. And better intangibles, coaches son, understands working hard improving craft. Troy is G Money lite. He may have to wander in the desert for a few years before he figures it out.
Please cut Chinanu. This man is a bonafide scrub… the man cannot play the game of basketball. He has small hands, he can’t catch the ball; he’s got bad feet, he can’t really move, even though he’s mobile, he doesn’t really know what he’s doing; he doesn’t have a post move he puts to memory that he can do two times in a row; he has no game whatsoever; plays no defense; doesn’t have the heart, the passion or anything that comes with it.
When Robert Covington got released, I got upset. The guy won D League All Star game MVP he is better than Francisco Garcia. Daryl makes more mistakes on prospects. I mean Hassan Whiteside was on the Vipers. I wanted him on the team too. I noticed Hassan during the King games, he was really skinny back then, but he has size and excellent rebounding skills, now he improved so much now, especially his post moves, hook shot, strength.
he made so many mistakes that he now has a legit championship contender without ever just sucking as an organization and team
Loved both guys too. But loving this team even more. And next season's team could be even better. Enjoy.
Nanu's useless. Williams is better than him, but you are correct, there is no role for him on the Rockets.
Too raw, at this point to determine his future as an NBA prospect. He has made some improvement though.
The Rockets can't bring him on board for the remainder of the season since he has signed for the Vipers.
The Center position is stacked Clint Capela, Nene, Brandon Wright, Tarik Black, Zhou Qi, Chinanu Onuaku, Isaiah Hartenstein
Troy Williams can become scary good like a Andre Iguodala type, Troy can shot block, his weakness is defensive positioning, shooting form, leg scissor kick in his shot needs to go. Troy was undrafted, Andre was a lottery pick. I am curious what coaches say about Troy Williams.
