Nene has regressed. I dont know what to make of it, and its not just on offense. On D he has lost finesse in his D and fouls far more often than he used to.
I guess this was the guy Morey expected to sign...fine by me, we need one more big, can't trust Nene unfortunately.
nene still shows he can still be effective. nothing ive seen from wright shows me hes better than nene at this point. its not like hes had a great career. journeyman center who never lived up to expectations as an 8th pick
Wow, just wow. Brandon Wright is one of the most underrated players in the NBA, I have him alongside Prince Luc as a really decent player whom everyone just seems to ignore. Really amazing signing and his previous deal was really cheap (5M?) so he shouldnt ask for a big raise lol. I hope we can keep him on the team next season alongside Luc and Green as part of our bench mob.
He's a different type of big though, Nene for his size/strength, Wright for his length/athleticism. Wright can also play every game if need be, unlike Nene.
Nene is definitely effective however Nene is also playing out of position, he is really a PF so when he bangs with guys at the C spot there is a high chance he will get injured. We dont really need somebody better than nene, just someone who can be our third big when Capela gets gassed/in foul trouble. It was supposed to be Tarik Black ans Joe chee but Tarik has been playig like a scrub all season long and Joe Chee is nowhere near ready. Wright might not have lived up to his potential as a lottery pick but he showed in Dallas he has very high bball IQ and he can thrive in a free flowing offense. I'm excited to see what he can do in ours, we might end up with 48 mins capela action.

Rocket fan living in DFW. Not a Mav fan. Cuban’s a p***y. Was never impressed with Wright. The definition of an enigma. Would go for 15/10 one night, then disappear the next. Had his best years here. Having said that, he has a very high BB IQ, is athletic, runs the court well. We underestimate Blacks defensive aggressiveness, Wright lacks that, he can be bullied. But he had/has a real good feel around the rim for blocking shots. I like Black, but I think Wright is a better fit for a 3 headed monster at center. Cap/Nene/Wright. Now a vet ball handling guard plus good health and we are good to go.

I did worry for a second if he only had big games against us and stunk the rest of the time cuz I’ll be honest I haven’t watched much of him besides the games against us. But still his size alone fits perfectly. And this is more for insurance purposes rather than need.
