JJ played for MDA, so that might give Rox an advantage there.

If the Rockets were confident in multiple buyout guys they would have moved one of their small contracts today to create room under the luxury tax to sign two buyout guys.

That they didn't means they probably aren't expecting to have their choice of multiple worthy buyout guys.

Would the Clippers buy out DJ?

Doubtful. They are a fringe playoff team. He has a big player option next year that he will likely want to exercise now.

I thought it was crazy he'd even consider not exercising, but I thought that was the rumor...?

I don't understand the Clippers strategy at all.

Some people thought he'd want to hit free agency to get another big payday, but with the money tightening I think there's a good chance he opts IN to that deal to avoid hitting free agency and hopes for a CP3 type "opt-in and trade" scenario.

ch44 mentioned DM tried to move Tarik and Troy. Apparently, no one wanted them.

A lot of attention is being paid to potential buyout candidates but knowing Morey I wouldnt be surprised if he has his eye on some guys playing overseas who’s season will end soon... similar to when he signed Beasley.

Anybody have any ideas on who has been playing well this year in China or something that could help the roster? I know it might sound crazy but I wouldn’t be shocked if he gave D-Mo a call.

Yeah, I've always thought it curious how he found a PBev. You'd think there'd be more PBev's out there. But I guess not.
I know you're talking more american guys playing overseas that we might have already heard of.
The one I've always thought about was Anthony Randolph.

Yeah I just don’t see DJ getting another big payday. He has to opt in next year or risk losing millions.

yeah right. they did that bc they were having a bad season and needed to do something.

that's not happening for a 40-13 team. people are still living in the past with the js and dmo name drops. those ships have sailed

I know its not really going to happen...

BUT, would the Nuggets buy out Faried? If they give him the rest of his money plus $3 or $4 million of next year's money??

He then has a chance to go somewhere and resurrect his career. He'd have to bet on himself...

So we can’t afford 2 buyout guys? Even if we waive black, Williams, Brown, etc ?

I want Johnson and Chandler. If I had one choice it’s Tyson.

Im not getting your point? You don’t think there is someone overseas that could be the 15th man on the roster? Our rotation is set either way so whoever we do sign is just going to be an injury replacement.
