I don't get it. How did this thread become about Favors....

Cyberx was saying that if/when Favors was traded (with or without JJ) that the team JJ plays for could reach a buyout and we could sign him outright.

There's no point in waving our "trash" assets in front of Utah's face just for JJ or even Favors.... Ryno isn' going to net us those two.

I mean Utah is dumb but not that dumb, they managed to draft the ROY and have one of the best bigs in basketball. Get real.

Anderson isn’t getting traded during the season. We’re not trading our starting PF when we’re 2-1 on the Warriors, 2-0 on the Spurs, and have been the best we’ve ever been under this front office.

If Ryno was going to bring us back an upgrade at PF then yes we’d trade him but I hope by now we’ve all realized that’s not going to happen.

We may be players in the buyout market. That’s it. And I’m fine with that.

It is possible we could pull off some good take back but we would have to ransack our assests [Draft picks, euro rights] and I doubt we would do that unless we are getting a good deal back

It's not like Ryan Anderson is a total trash player though, I think he has value but obviously his contract is what's holding him back

 

Of course, it's all about his contract. I don't think we have the assets to trade him and get back someone that someone else would trade a first round pick for straight up.

Guys mentioning Aaron Gordon are just nuts.

Chess. Long term contracts don't preclude a Lebron pursuit. It is about flexibility. Value Players can be moved. It is about "reading the player market." Don't worry about contract length.

 

What about a 3 team deal with Utah and Orlando:
Orlando gets Hood, Favors and Utah 2018 1st
Utah gets Aaron Gordon, Ryno, Chinanu and a 2nd rounder from Houston (the 2018 Memphis one or a future one)
Houston gets Vucevic and Joe Johnson

Does that sound like a decent deal on all sides?

I dont think the season record against the Warriors or Spurs matters. The reason Anderson isn't getting moved is because his contract sucks and the Rockets don't have much to package with him to get a deal done. Its that simple IMO.
