Do you think it's mental for him or is he not a 100% healthy yet and doesn't want to drive as much yet?

doesn't seem like a large enough sample size considering we are limiting his minutes

Hitting 3s like he's been doing, he doesn't need to drive much. No reason to go all out until that hammy is 100%.

They don’t call fouls on him. A lot of Free throw resulting plays were ruled on the floor.

What I think is it's been three games and he's recovering from an injury... You'll have a worthwhile stat after 10 games.

I like a good game of basketball. I am not into the theatrics of flopping or driving for the purpose of creating contact for fouls.

I did like the idea of getting players into foul trouble to ease the intensity of defense. But considering nobody plays defense anymore, the point is moot.

This is a non-sequitur. Harden has been pretty good about not flopping since the 2013-14 season. He embellishes a bit with the head flails here and there, but it's definitely no worse than the average NBA star. Fact is Harden is an aggressive player who knows how to bait defenders, but he just hasn't quite played that way yet since coming back. I'm sure he will before long, though.

Harden doesn't look scared out there; he is playing they way he has always played. Refs just aren't calling those fouls anymore. Adam Silver trying to ruin Harden's career.

Actually you might be right. He doesn’t contest shots at the rim or laterally either right now.

He doesn’t look to drive when there are multiple bodies close to the paint.

A little mental and a little physical

    Sample size is small.

He will be back to normal harden soon. No worries

Harden is drivng to score, assist, and open up the defense for shooters.

Not his fault opponents get desperate and reach in or stand on his way. If they do, hell make sure refs calls the fouls as fouls. To score n to rack opponents fouls.

Refs look for flops and offensive fouls from harden yet they dont see it

Can you honestly watch 48 minutes of 1980s basketball and walk away with the conclusion that teams play less defense today than they did back then, on a possession-by-possession basis?

Hes been averaging 17 (wb like) drives per game 11 pts off drives for the season

For the last 3 games hes averaging 13 (kyrie like) drives per game 4 pts off drives

So 4 drives less, scoring rate a bit less, same assist rate, but getting fouled alot less off drives

Hes good shooting % plus coming back from injury makes him think of driving less

And his injury makes him avoid contact thus less fouls called

Pretty sure he'll get back to those averages but if hes shooting this well 50% fg 40% 3fg i don't mind him not driving as much as wb but just as much as kyrie

He isn't driving nearly as much, probably avoiding contact as a precaution / thread.

I'm digging this new block thing. I wish a reporter would ask him about it.

Are we watching Denver in the 80s or the Celtics? The way the game is called has changed which minimizes defensive activity a lot. If they allowed hand-checking tomorrow I think you'd start seeing exactly what you're referring to in a couple of short weeks.
