Not that this will make an impact, but will probably solidify teh fact he will never do anything in an Astros uni.

Who was it that was dragging the Astros when we signed Singleton to that contract? Honestly gave him all that money to do pretty much nothing.

    Bud Norris.

What a waste. Probably would have happened a lot sooner had he not been on the 40 man

Dean Deetz just got suspended too, right? I read 80 games. this will free up a spot on the 40-man.

He wasn’t. He got paid and seemingly didn’t care enough.

Are they allowed to cut him while he's suspended?

Maybe? Probably? Fringe minor leaguers and relief pitchers are the most likely/common PED suspensions.

Yes, Deetz’s suspension means there will be a spot open on the 40 man from opening day through the 1st 80 games.

Pretty sure Singleton’s suspension is actually good for Houston, since they save the salary they’d have paid him over the suspension, which would be over a million dollars. What an idiot.

They cut a Rookie-ball pitcher about a month after he got suspended as part of a system-wide filler purge before Christmas.

For weed? Who gives a ****?

I don't really follow baseball, but suspending players 100 games for mar1juana seems stupid to me, idk if thats normal in this league

MLB does. It's in his contract. 3rd positive test, iirc.

What’s funny is that if he were on the 40 man roster he wouldn’t be subject to testing for mar1juana. There was speculation as to that being why he was called up in the first place.

Like I said, what an idiot. Even if the Astros were wrong about their evaluation of his talent and smoking weed didnt cost him tens of millions by preventing him from reaching his potential, he just sacrificed >10% of his total lifetime earnings for some weed.

He's made 7.5 MILLION $$$$ thus far for nothing.

Trust me he's been laughing his @$$ off the past few years every single time He's cashed those checks.
