Lebron and Lue having massive public falling out. It's crazy to see Lebron and the Cavs publicly bashing eachother like this.

    LeBron-Harden-Paul ('19) = Hakeem-Drexler-Barkley ('95)

    I know

'97 has a weaker argument for being equal.

lol its gonna be funny if we fail to sign any stars in the summer and end up overpaying in another Anderson type deal.

LBJ to HOU sounds GREAT and all but this is ultimately going to fall on Tillman and if he’s even willing to open up that checkbook.
We also have to find a home for Anderson who will be on the books for 2 more years and $40 million.
Anything involving LBJ would certainly put us over the luxury cap and if Tillman isn’t down for that than a sign and trade would most certainly include EG and Tucker/Ariza.
If I’m not mistaken GS was able to sign KD after signing Green, Klay, and Steph bc they had those players birdrights, I can see HOU doing that in order to keep the players we currently have but it’s only possible if LBJ takes a paycut along with CP.
If I’m not mistaken and we could do that than I would think that only moving Anderson would be a priority.
    Having a roster of:

    Chris Paul
    James Harden
    Trevor Ariza
    LeBron James
    Clint Capela

    Bench:
    Eric Gordon
    Gerald Green
    LRMM
    PJ Tucker
    NENE

will def be the deepest roster LBJ would be a part of and I think Tillman is willing to open up that checkbook if it makes sense and money.

Yeah having two top 5 scorers from this season. Along with an ever improving Capela and a decent point guard Paul.

Always having a pairing of Paul or Harden / Capela or Cousins on the floor at all times.

    Yeah it would suck.

Yes and the Rockets were a pretty old team
    with ugly uniforms

LeBron is not really that old, but the uniforms are still ugly

I think Tillman would open that checkbook if Lebron comes. **** who wouldn’t? He would make his money back from the fans.

So the rockets have $80 million tied into players for next season (the summer of LBJ). This excludes CP3’s and Capelas possible $20+ mill salary they will most likely get this summer. However, we do have CP3’s bird rights which allows the Rockets to exceed the salary cap (yes this still affects our salary cap).
We would def have to move Anderson (OKC maybe) before even thinking about signing LBJ. We would also have to trade away Troy Williams and Chinanu Onuaku who are on the books for $1 mill each. Making these moves would clear about $23 mill in cap space to possibly sign LBJ, however, LBJ would still have to take a pay cut if he wants to play with his friend CP3 which I have a feeling he does.
I also have to mention that Ariza is a FA along with LRMM, GG, and Tarik Black.
Capela is a RFA which allows HOU to sign him above the cap without penalty I believe (someone correct me if I’m wrong on this).
So let’s say we DO sign LBJ and want to keep our core bc why not, right? I mean If GS can do it why can’t we?
Our roster would shape out to look something like this:

    Chris Paul (Max)
    James Harden (Max)
    Trevor Ariza (MLE)
    LeBron James (Paycut)
    Clint Capela (Max)

    Our Bench:
Eric Gordon ($13 mill)/ Briante Weber (NGTO)
    Gerald Green (Vet minimum)
    LRMM (Vet minimum)
    PJ Tucker ($7 mill)/Zhou Qi ($1 mill)
    NENE ($3 mill)/Tarik Black(Vet minimum)

Starters: ~ $100 million ONLY if LBJ takes a paycut
    Bench: ~$26 million

The Rockets have Ariza's full Bird rights meaning they could exceed the cap to resign him without using the MLE meaning they could use all or part of that for Luc or someone else. Ariza would just need to be the last domino to fall in the process.
