That's fair, even though he's an offensive mastermind, he still has bad habits that got annoying. IMO that flaw is less annoying than incompetence that leads to not having 10 points to give back.
To do what? Oh, you think the Patriots would want a failure of a head coach like BOB? Not likely, that team has higher standards than that.
O'Brien is bad at recognizing talent, understanding value, and in calling plays. But he's good at people skills like getting his team to play hard.
You don' think those 2 old friends would want to work together again. Especially after they both have had run ins with diva Brady.
Going to be so exciting watching Deshaun's ligaments and bones rip and shatter as he hopelessly attempts to drag BOB to a championship.
No they're both HCs and having the GOAT isn't an issue. Belichick is very hard on his guys. They love O'Brien up there and he's been looked at as eventual replacement for Belichick, but he would require a GM. McDaniels is the other option and he has been asking for HC/GM power like he had in DEN in interviews, so no GM needed for him. But I don't think they'll be breaking up the gang just yet. I expect Belichick wants to win a SB without Brady just to show everyone it was him all along.
Basically across all major professional sports HC's will either be extended or let go BEFORE their final coaching season... ... because GOD FORBID a person be on the last year of a contract!!!
I disagree. I don't think too many people will think the Texans played really that hard in their last 6 games of this season.
How does he get guys to play hard, but has had routine blowout losses every season? Losses where the team looks unprepared from the start or look uninspired once they're behind.
O'Brien way overvalues coaching. It's talent first, then coaching. I don't care if you have Belichick here, can't win much with this roster.
It is a byproduct of the Pats model. The difference, of course, is that having the QB in place covers up for a lot of personnel issues. Hopefully, we have our QB, and the coaching staff can have better performance from a schematic perspective.
Spoiler Spoiler It starts with me Pat, Gotta do a better job. Not good enough. Spoiler It's Rick Smith's fault. Bill wanted to bring in great assistants but Rick told him otherwise. Rick brought in these assistants, not Bill.
And belichick doesn't undervalue talent. His teams are usually deep, he doesn't overpays guys, he hoards draft picks (until recently with the increasing cap making free agents more attractive) His dumb minions like McDaniels and O'Brien think the roster doesn't matter, they just have to install the Patriots way
