Man Chris Paul is the perfect superstar to play along side Harden because he excels at Harden's greatest weaknesses which is defense and being phased when pressed by defenders off or on the ball.

 

If Morey doesn’t sign paul harden won’t be happy since he recruited Paul and wanted to win play with him here.

CP3 is not your average 33 year old.

Hes not great because he is extremely athletic. He will age fine.

 

It's not his skills that will age. It's his health that is worrisome.

That said, many posters have pointed out that his value might be in recruiting other stars and keeping Harden happy, so much so that Morey would bite the bullet and sign him big and long.

 

I think the bigger question is DOES cp3 wanna commit long term to Houston? I'm sorry but harden isn't gonna be able to do it alone. We STILL need more help.

 

No way should we give him 5-Yrs at the MAX. He's 33 and already injury prone. His speed is going to decline and defensively won't be able to keep up with the young superstar PGs in a few years. Having said that, I would give him 4 years, but not at the Max. If CP3 truly cares about winning a championship, he wouldn't hinder our roster flexibility and request the max.

 

His health will not improve with age....seems to be always injured at playoff time. 30+ million is a lot to pay for part time PG with recruiting ability. Ask yourself if current Tony Parker at his age worth a max contract? Would rather go full throttle at Paul George with the money and move Harden back to PG. George is only 27 years old.
