Sure I do. I may not understands somebody elses level of depression but everybody understands their own. They also choose how or if they want to deal with it. My way might not be the same as your way or another persons way but it gets dealt with in a manner that I can tolerate. I think you misread the "growing a ****ing backbone", that was in context to bullying and a generation being too brittle on social media, although its all encompassing, it had nothing to do with her state of depression. Depression wasnt even in the conversation yet.

 

Okay, just sounded like a weird statement when the article explicitly mentioned her long battle with depression.
For me, depression was already in the conversation because of her history and the article.

 

You don't kill yourself just because of twitter comments unless you are already in a bad, or at least incredibly volatile, mental state.

She didn't kill herself because she's part of a "gentle" generation. She had been a victim of sexual abuse from her own grandfather (according to interviews of her) and her father refused to believe her which led to her estrangement with her family.

It's just my opinion, but because of the above, and the crushing weight of bullying she received (which was way over the top) she made a very poor decision.

Suicide isn't about "growing a backbone". It's about a feeling of self worthlessness that grows over a course of a very long time and generally a traumatic event that triggers the idea in ones head that death is preferable. It's not rational and can't be explained rationally.

 

How the hell were we supposed to know all that from the sourced link? Lets get one thing straight here, my saying of growing a backbone was in reference to not letting outside noise effect you and your everyday life, that is not to be associated with suicide solely. Like I said depression was the all encompassing matter, but for someone to get butt hurt over a strangers comments about you, over a internet medium is pure stupidity. Thats this generation of millennials- they need to grow a ****ing backbone.

In all seriousness, as people have stated I doubt some people calling her out caused this. If one can do p*rn they’re pretty used to be bashed in public. She was ridiculously pretty and young, just sad.
