Rockets have a great opportunity to gain a little bit of separation from GS for that 1st seed just checked GS’s schedule, and it doesn’t look that tough, but Curry is their offensive engine/most important player on that side of the floor
Unfortunately theres still the rest of them. If Im not mistaken, three All NBAers and a crap ton of depth to boot...
I'd rather have Curry play. Now they may rally around this to try and make up for his absence, or they may feel they have to. They were kind of just coasting...
Idk man. The loss of curry will def hurt more than help their chances of winning games over the next month IMO. Curry was the dude who really brings it in those 3rd quarters to me
maybe, but Curry being out is pretty significant, he and Dray are easily their 2 most important players
Out 4-6 weeks is my guess. Definitely a good opportunity to gain some distance for home court. No one on their team simulates Curry's impact. Even Draymond's role can be replaced by Durant.
huge blow to the warriors. oh wait, they still have an MVP / scoring champion, 20 ppg two way hall of fame level shooter, and a DPOY Triple double threat stretch 4/5.
yeah hard to feel sorry for them. They are probably the only team in sports history that I don't really have any sympathy for. Sucks for steph but it's not even a serious injury. He will be back as the same steph soon enough IMO. It'd actually make the nba a whole lot more interesting to see them have to fight for seeding. Would be cool if we got the 1st seed so warriors have some adversity and not some cupcake playoff schedule in the west. Kevin Durant with a 73 win team vs trailblazers, jazz with limpy gobert, and spurs with no kawhi all with homecourt advantage is a joke. Also in 2015 pelicans with injured holiday, grizzlies with injured tony allen/ mike conley, rockets with injured beverley and mainly dwight howard after that josh smith collision is easy. their 2016 run to the finals was pretty legit though. They played the .500 "broken team" rockets with injured steph, trailblazers, and overcame a 3-1 deficit vs thunder. I'd like to see them tested and play a 7th seeded team (thunder, pels, jazz, nuggets?), duke it out and expend energy versus the spurs, and then play the harden/cp3 rockets on the road.
The sad thing is Curry's injury could end up being a good thing for the Warriors if he returns in a month or so and completely recovers. It creates the opportunity for some of their non-starters to get more consistent playing time to sharpen their sword. I'm thinking of McCaw, Nick Young and Casspi.
