That's more of a work around idea. I wouldn't want to take a good center an make him a mediocre guard. They'll have to spend money in FA and spot some underrated prospects in the draft.

Saying Martin would be a mediocre guard is not giving him enough credit.

Well you're assuming he'd make a mediocre guard. He spent majority of his junior year at OG and consnesus was that he could play either coming out of the draft. Think he'd actually be a big upgrade over XSF. But agree it's more of a work around idea.

Having 2 possibly 3 starters new to the system is worrisome, especially since 1 or more could be rookies.

If Martin could slide over and Mancz a more than capable center, that would go a long way to help the oline. It is ifs and buts, one can dream though, need to keep Watson protected

It's not as simple as saying that player x did well at position y so they'll do well at position z....if it was, then Mancz would be tearing it up at one of the guard spots. Moving Martin would be just taking away the O line's sole strength and potentially doing nothing else.

If we let go of mancz, he will become a near pro bowl starter somewhere else. I think he's pretty good but allen has been paid $$ so he was only going to start as a guard if an injury happened. He's also better than filo but someone vouched filo to be the next best thing for that New england power running scheme. With the malcontent whiny all pro left tackle, there is nowhere to hide filo.

nate solder/ Mancz/ Martin/ Rookie trade up/ Davenport + Jesus Watson under center = best offense in the NFL.

I don't think the cap hit will be bad by cutting allen. but that guy has to go. Mean streak..pssh.

Looks like Rick Smith pulled a fast one on Seattle.

    How so?

Brown had a very good game, especially playing on a sprained ankle.

From my count he gave up one pressure and had a rare holding call...

DB is 10x the player any of our OTs are.

Duane Brown doesn’t make up for the fact that Germain Ifedi is really bad. They gave up picks and still have a leaky offensive line and one of the most anemic running games in the league.

If we were going for a super bowl this year it would matter. Otherwise I'll take the picks
